No new posts??

Steve,

I´ve been having problems lately when I click on "view new posts". Even though I´m just logging in and it says that I have "x" number of unread threads and posts, when I click on new posts to see them, it tells me "sorry, no matches, pleasy try some different terms" or something like that. Why??

Maria, I find that when I log in, it will say *** new posts and *** new threads since your last visit.

If I have any PMs, and I read and reply to them, by the time I "get back" it will zero out on me! Perhaps that's what's happening to you? I find that I have to read all of the new posts first, then open and answer the mail!

make sure on the main page (on the right) it says "welcome back maria"

if it doesn't then goto the bottom of the page and login

i'm sure it did it to me a few weeks ago

Why does it say "welcome back, maria" when you log in?

Are you one and the same person?

Oh Mom... I´ve learned that the hard way too! :rolleyes:

However, this happened when I was just logging in and had no private messages or anything to be distracted with! I saw I had like 60 threads to read and immediately clicked on "read new posts" and the window with no messages appeared! I tried three times and came back to the same! So... I had to go board by board.... *sigh*

Hi Neily!

Oh... that´s another thing! I´ve been asked very frequently lately to log in again! I have my pc set to remember my login and password, but there are times when it greets me as a "guest" and asks me to log in again!

Hi Maria

It could be that your internet browser settings are denying this website to place a "cookie" on your pc (which stores your user details) and then you have to log in manually each visit.

Are you using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 ?

I don´t really know which version of Explorer I have... :(

I have it set to accept cookies, but the weird thing is that it doesn´t do it all the time! Just lately it´s been doing it sometimes. Like for instance, today, I logged in normally, just clicked on the site and I was there! No need to log in!

*sigh*..... :animwink:

Maria im not cookied either so i have to log in each time i visit .....dont know why i dont get cookied ....i just havent set them yet :slurp:

Maria, If you are getting asked for username and password occasionally that will also cause you problems with new threads not being shown. To check your browser version, go to HELP, ABOUT INTERNET EXPLORER. Let me know what version you have. :)

I have explorer version 6.0 that came with my windows xp.
It doesn´t always ask me to log in again, and it is not the same times that it doesn´t show me the new posts.

Your cookie may be corrupted somehow.

Logout of the board, then go to start > search > files and folders.

Then do a search for forums.wdwmagic.

Of the files that come up, one should be a text (.txt) file. Delete it. Then come back and login.

no worries.....

with the browser open, click on Help and then About Internet Explorer.....

it then displays a window that tells you the version number
 

Register on WDWMAGIC. This sidebar will go away, and you'll see fewer ads.
