no more finger scan?

I went to the world with my party of 3 adults and 2 kids, I had a 2 days FL resident ticket and they all had a 5 days MYW ticket (no hopper, with fun option).

We visited the four parks and one water park between May 8th and 12th and we never had to scan our finger, not even once. Anyone knows why?

Those tickets have one day left, (and also 4 fun options left) and since they have no finger associated with, could I safely give them to a friend to use them before the 14 days expiration?

The biometric scanners are periodically turned off to decrease the wait time to get into the park. The most common time you will see this is at park opening.

As was said, they are often turned off at peak entry times in order to speed the progress through the turnstiles. A lot of people insist on putting their fingers there even when it's not required, thus defeating the purpose of turning off the scan! :brick:

When the scan is turned on, it is required for any ticket, regardless of single-day or multi-day.

Or even Cast ID ;)

So Disney no longer want you to slip them your finger? Never worked for me anyway, well not since after that job went wrong and I had my prints removed.

I went one better than that and had my fingers removed... :lookaroun

I actually have to get them to disable the biometrics for my AP. So when the scans are turned on, my AP slides right through and the turnstile unlocks. The turnstile CM almost every time says something like "Hmm... Never saw it do that before!" as I walk in.

You never had to scan your finger, I never have!
