:cry:Ok so maybe We have not been to Boatwrights in a few years(one of those things that we say oh next time) Well apparently there won't be one:cry:..Gone is breakfast from Boatwrights....No more.... Which means no more Banana Stuffed french toast...For those of you who have had it....And loved it ....Mourn with me:cry:....I guess it might not have been so popular after all...:(

Don't get me wrong I like that DIsney is adding different things to their menu's,( their getting healthier and all) But some things need to stay I so miss just getting a normal Turkey and cheese sandwich....Not brie....Just plain ole american, swiss normal cheese on wheat is fine .....Sorry had to vent....Like I said I like that Disney is trying new dining and snack options but sometimes they make way too funky changes!!!

Ode to.... Banana Stuffed french toast....Oh paired with A glass of Mamosa...You were good!!! Nothing like a great sugar rush to start my day!!

Was this banana stuffed French toast dredged in cinnamon and sugar? If so, you can get it at Kona Cafe or Caption Cooks at the Polynesian (Tonga Toast). The Rainforest Cafe outside DAK also has a similar item on their menu.

I hear you though - breakfast at Boatwrights will be missed. I was a fan of their sweet potato pancakes.

No More Bannana Stuffed French Toast

When is Boatwrights closing for Breakfast? We have ADRs there on March 24! We love the place for breakfast...it is always our last meal at WDW before heading home.

I'll miss the atmosphere at Boatwright's (for some reason it always made me think of Gibbs's basement in NCIS) and the wonderful sweet potato pancakes! The Tonga Toast is about the same (to me, anyway) as the stuffed French Toast, but the restaurants themselves don't compare. We'd figure out each vacation how we were going to get there for breakfast. Sigh. We'll miss it.

We need time for things to happen.
Arrgggh!!

I know it's only nit-picky (<<is that a word??) little things, but we have our May trip coming up, and first the TTA is going to be down, my most favorite chill ride, and then We're staying at POR for the first time and I thought, Oh! that will be convenient to try out the Banana Stuffed French Bread.....Arrgh!
That's it I am staying home!!!

HA!!! Yeah right!! I'll miss these two little pieces of my vaca -- but I'll do my best to try and enjoy myself!! :D

BTW - to clarify, Boatwrights is just doing away with breakfast correct? Where did this info come from??

We stayed at the Caribbean Resort in 2004 and the food court had banana stuffed french toast,,,I know cuz I ate it every morning. Does anyone out there know if its still on the menu in the food court? We are staying there again this year....the one thing I was really looking forward to. Thanks. Sandy

They have French toast at the food court but I am 99% sure that it is not banana stuffed French toast and the table service restaurant there does not serve breakfast.

I can confirm that 2/21 is the last day for breakfast at Boatwrights. There will be no breakfast starting on 2/22, but dinner will still be served.

There is no word on if this is a cost cutting measure or not.

Oh my goodness. When I read the title of this thread I had chest pains that I haven't felt since the last time I ate Tonga Toast! I was worried that I would read that this elimination would be property-wide. As long as Kona still has Tonga Toast, the World can continue to spin!
A trip just isn't a trip without Tonga Toast - we went to Kona for breakfast three times on our last trip!

Darn. Maybe........there is that 1% chance.....you ...could be....wrong???
Well, it wasn't at CBR's food court in May 2005 when I was there ... I would've jumped for the chance to get some, and I'd always been jealous of the people staying at POR and Poly who could get some.

And it's not currently on the menu at CBR (according to the menu on allears.net).

I'm trying not to be cynical, but what other reason could there be?

I'm sure it's a cost cutting move. Just haven't figured out if it's based only on trying to cut costs due to the recession and economy or if it's something that's been in the plan

Maybe it's something that guests aren't really looking for in the morning. I doubt that many people are making reservations/eating there that aren't Port Orleans guests.

How many other table service restaurants that don't have direct access via boat or monorail to a theme park and/or isn't a character breakfast are open for breakfast?

It seems to be Boma, Maya Grill, and Olivia's. I highly doubt Boma or Maya Grill closes, but maybe Olivia's is next.
