No LL for international guest ?

Say you're from the UK and arrive in the US for a month trip through the east coast. Your credit card billing address would still be in the UK when you're making your purchases in NYC or wherever. Ergo that wouldn't work.

And you can most definitely spoof your location on a mobile phone, or even better, on a PC pretending to be a mobile phone. Pokemon Go players have been doing so for 8 years, even when Niantic, the company commercializing the game, has been trying to stop them since the beginning.

I believe it can be done for Android, apparently not for iOS.

But booking G+ on Android using that get-around has been tested without success.

Then the people trying were just not good enough.
Have you managed to book G+ from outside the US / Canada?

I trust the expertise of the sources that said the app still blocked them. But if you have done so I’ll let them know.

Respectfully, businesses are not required to be “fair”. Fairness is subjective. Sure they have to follow certain guidelines regarding laws and what not but the rest is their choice.

Issues come about when their choices do not align with customer expectations. Such is the case in this situation.

Disney doesn’t care about changing it because people are still making the trip to visit, even knowing they are going to be disappointed or there will be a disparity in experience. Until people express their distain by not buying their product, they have no motivation to change.

They have proven over and over they are not concerned with public opinion. “If you’re still buying tickets you must not be that upset about it….”

BTW, I think it‘s terrible too. At some point you have to make a decision if you want to spend your money elsewhere.
Sad, but true.

I haven't tried yet (because I'm not planning a WDW trip soon), but through my professional experience I can tell you it's not very hard

To be clear, I’m not disputing that a GPS location can be spoofed.

Just that it seems that booking G+ isn’t possible using a spoofed GPS location. The guys know what they’re doing. That’s why I asked if you had managed to do so.

Can anyone clarify what happened here?

Is Disney being stopped from doing this from the countries?

Did Disney drop the ball on this?

Was Disney in so much in a rush to release Multipass even though they it knew there was more work on their end for international and just released what they had?

It's due to over-reaching privacy laws in the EU. Here is the link to a story about it ( https://apnews.com/article/digital-...ation-europe-26d76cc4785df1153669258766cc6387 ), but the pertinent paragraph that would apply to Disney is this ~ Mobile app stores Google Play and Apple’s App Store are subject, as are Google’s Search and Microsoft’s Bing search engine.

No one’s quite sure.

The functionality will only be on the app, and for whatever reason they are geo-fencing it to US & Canada only.

It might be to do with tax laws on digital products - according to Len Testa.

Edit: @Ayla linked to what might be an interesting article - if only it wasn’t geo-blocked for me! 🤣🤣

This is about advertising, tracking, reporting scams, fraud and abuse etc. This would not affect buying LLMPs, unless of course Disney is intending to use that process to track you, profile you and fling ads and spam at you without your consent, and use dark practices to manipulate you into buying things. And...the UK is not in the EU.

This is a bizarre decision and poor customer service.

It's also bad business? A benefit of advance Genie+ purchases is the guest pays for it before knowing whether or not it's truly needed on a given day.

I heard a US based travel agent can do the bookings on your behalf as well. Not sure if that's accurate.
