The DK Coaster seems to me like an armchair "imagineering" (or Universal Creative-ing rather) idea that they ran with but they were too far into the project when they realize the concept doesn't really work that well.
As others said, you can clearly see the real track. What you can't really see is the gaps in the fake track that you are supposedly jumping over. Also, to emphasize all these fake track effects, it ends up being not a very good coaster with lots of slowdowns, blocks, and small elements. Oh, and low capacity. It also just isn't all that immersive how the "temple" is kind of just a wall you go behind. It comes off like the whole thing was designed to look cool offride and that was the main focus, with the on-ride experience being of secondary importance. I hope I'm wrong.
I feel like an all indoor coaster that foregoes trying to mimic the jumping in favor of being a better coaster and a more immersive experience would have been preferred.
