Nintendo partnering with Universal to make attractions.

If they like calm stuff why come to a theme park? My kids are in the 9-14 year old bracket and love going to Universal.
Not everyone wants to be shaken everywhere or pulled into heavy coasters.

My mother for example, could ride almost everything at Disney. She hardly could get things done in Universal, since all involve heavy shaking and movement that could hurt her.

My dad has the same problem. He has a bad back and a weak stomach. He can handle almost everything at Disney, but about half of Uni is too spinny or bouncy for him. Too bad because he used to love everything, the rougher the better.

This is really intriguing. when is this rumored to be announced/begin construction? And what are the current rumors of what the attractions USF would be getting?

The announcement could be coming fairly soon. The start of construction we don't know. The rumored attractions are Mario Kart, Donkey Kong Mine Train, a Yoshis Island dark ride, and some unspecified flat rides. Mario Kart seems like a definite for both USF and USJ while DK could be only for USF and Yoshi for USJ but they could also be added to either of the plans. At this point I'm just waiting for the announcement to see exactly what we're getting but those are the possibilities.

Thank you! How exciting! My family has always been a disney-exclusive family, but with the recent additions to USF we decided to skip Disney this summer and try Universal. We are glad to say we will definitely be returning there, not only because of the great experience, but also because of the upcoming rides. It's certainly become a resort that can't be ignored anymore.

Something big, like big big big is brewing at UO right now. Lots of industry big shots are getting wined and dined this week.

This doesn't surprise me in the least. Steve Burke and Comcast aren't screwing around and I feel like something big is brewing at UO every couple of months. There hasn't been such aggressive and responsible stewardship of theme parks since Eisner's early years when he gave the thumbs up on Splash Mountain within 10 minutes of seeing the model and said, "what else can you show me?"

When I went USO last week, the attraction lineup did seem to be a bit scarce. However, Fallon and Fast & Furious will immediately change that and these nintendo additions will surely make this a complete park. I think IOA could use another ride and then these two parks will be in great form, meaning work could begin on the third gate. Could Secret Life of Pets go there rather than the Studios?

I'm not sure which island it could fit in, but whatever they do with it, it better be a ride, and not one of those flying theater shows like Shrek, Terminator, Despicable me etc. I've had enough of those and I don't understand why people keep riding them- it makes UOR execs believe the public wants more of them. they suck IMO, they need more thrill rides or at least some that actually move around. I don't need to wait in line for those shows when I could watch it on youtube for the same experience. I really hope they stay away from that type of system for everything Nintendo. I'd love to see some AA's that look like Mario, Luigi, and Bowser

Completely agree. As far as where it could fit, I was thinking the currently vacant toon lagoon amphitheater.
