a while back i was reading that there might be a night mare before christmas ride. could it be replaceing the hunch back theatre. i know im new but this is just what i read im not for sure just want to see what you think.:shrug:

I remember seeing that a while back too, but last I heard, Hunchback theater was just being turned into a performing arts theater, nothing more, nothing less.

I know for a fact WDI has had a blue sky presentation for a Nightmare Before Christmas attraction at Disney Hollywood Studios. It was presented back in 2005 and the place that it was pitched to go was where the Hunchback stage was! How do I know??? I presented the idea. Will the attraction ever come to the studios, I don't know, but they do have the concept within the halls of WDI, Glendale.

I really feel like the lack of a Nightmare Before Christmas attraction is a huge missed opportunity for Disney. Yes, they have the holiday makeover in Anaheim. But a full-fledged attraction at the Disney Hollywood Studios would be exactly the shot in the arm that Florida's floundering also-ran park desperately needs.

I agree, although I think both would be great. A NBC dark ride would probably be "better" for DHS, though...

we all have to remember that this park has stuff planned for it for the entire decade. they are gonna rebuild this park slowly into a great full day park.
in about 10 years, we wont recognize this park. i can tell you that much.
so, it is possible that a nightmare before christmas ride will come...but i personally doubt it.
i think they will focus on a family-friendly coaster first. then, they will focus on the already existing rides and either plus them or redo them.

Not me! The Muppets have always given me both the Heebies AND the Jeebies!
Beeker, Animal and Sweetums are faaaar creepier than anything in NBC in my opinion.:lookarounI know lots of folks love The Muppets but I just never understood the appeal. Yeah, I kinda liked 'em when I was little but they just haven't stood the test of time for me, they just feel so...dated...IMHO. The Muppets just don't have that "timeless" feel for me that the Disney characters have, with the possible exception being Kermit. But then again, in thirty years folks might be wondering who in the world Jack Skellington is...but I don't think so.
I'm a huge NBC fan and I would love to see both a NBC dark ride as well as a new Halloween party at DHS with a NBC theme or at least a major appearance by Jack and the other characters from NBC.
Muppets 3D is an OK attraction but it is by far my least favorite of the 3D attractions at WDW. I almost soil my linens everytime Sweetums comes out into the audience!

How about add an NBC dark ride AND a Muppets Great Movie ride. DHS is in desperate need of more rides. A theme park should never have more shows than rides.

I've brought NmBC up in other threads not so much because i've heard any solid rumors about it but because nothing excites me more. Jack's story and the stop motion animation of the film lends itself so well to a dark ride. A great score from Elfman could really tie each scene together in a way not matched since the original JII.

I believe it, a HSM3 show will be put in. . . makes sense, HSM is a big time evergreen property for Disney but it's shelf life is dated, trust. In 10 years from now we'll stop caring about Troy and Gabrielle and those 10-12 years olds who grew up with the franchise will be disenchanted. I'm sure Disney has plans on how to stretch this franchise out for at least another 5 years. Maybe following that will be a Hannah Montana stage show?
But if these rumors are true, that a Jack Skellington Halloween take over is in the works, wouldn't it make sense to have a ride to support it??? I mean Tim Burton is back in the fold with Disney now and is working on 2 major motion picture releases. I still believe 100% that a classic darkride based on the film would work very well in the parks and draw in huge crowds. If disney plans on re-releasing Nightmare every year in 3-d as a Halloween annual treat, the fan base is still there. I just don't understand the logic, if the Haunted Mansion Holiday is so big and people come in numbers just to see what happens when Jack takes over the haunted mansion, you'd think that guests would be just as nuts to see what would happen if Jack took over his own darkride. I understand Disney World not wanting a Haunted Mansion layover, personally I say let him have his own ride.
