NFL Playoffs Pick-em Time!

Let me fill in the outsiders here.

For the first time in my life, every tv station and radio station talks about the Saints. Radio stations play Saints music all the time. People everywhere are wearing Saints clothing.

So even if ya'll have lost at the hands of our team this season, I would just like to let you know how much this means to the people down here after all that occured down here last year. We're still very much in recovery mode and the Saints make things sooooooooooooooo much better for us. They are more than just a football team in Southeast LA...something I'm not sure people across America can understand or appreciate.

Thanks for the great season thusfar...I just hope we have 2 more victories in us.

What is Saints music? "When the Saints Go Marching In"? Zydeco? Is there a Saints fight song?

No matter what happens next, the people down there can take pride in their team having a great season. The Saints rebounded like no other team in history and advanced farther into the playoffs than ever before. If they lose next week, I'm sure it'll be a typical New Orleans funeral: a period of mourning followed by celebration. If the Saints do manage to get to the Super Bowl, I'll bet it'll be more fun to be a fan in New Orleans than to be in Miami.

Well, there is the "Who dat?" song and a few others...one being a remake of "This is the Way I Live" by Baby Boy to Prince or something like that. Also, U2 and Greenday's "The Saints are Coming"

But I'm not ready for it to be over Dopey...

But no classic tunes, like:

We are the Bears Shufflin' Crew
Shufflin' on down, doin' it for you.
We're so bad we know we're good.
Blowin' your mind like we knew we would.
You know we're just struttin' for fun
Struttin' our stuff for everyone.
We're not here to start no trouble.
We're just here to do the Super Bowl Shuffle.

OR:

Bear Down, Chicago Bears.
Make every play, clear the way to victory!
Bear Down, Chicago Bears.
Put up a fight with a might so fearlessly!

We'll never forget the way you thrilled the nation,
With your T formation.

Bear Down, Chicago Bears.
And let them know why you're wearing the crown. :king:

You're the pride and joy,
of all Illinois.

Chicago Bears, Bear Down!

^^^^ Those might be the worst sports songs ever. Now granted, some of ours aren't original, but some are, and damn good, but wow, those were terrible.

And i'm a Cubs fan too, so I've been to Chicago and love the city. But wow, those songs are bad.

Also, the Hail Mary ruled incomplete at the end of the first half was questionable...be thankful the refs didn't take an extra look at it.
I don't think he ever had complete control of the ball. Moot point now.

It just seemed to me like everything was called against us. I'd see holding on the saints, they'd call something else on the Eagles. That 4th and 10 call-back just did it for me. I started throwing things. My husband took cover.
It was a false start. I said it as soon as the ball was hiked. It was a foolish decision on Reid's part to punt the next play. If you are losing, you never, ever punt the ball away with less than two minutes to play. Did he really think the defense was going to hold them? The Saints had just had a sustained drive against them, stopped only by a fumble. They hadn't stopped McAlister all night--how were they gong to stop him with less than two minutes in the game? Bad decision.

They've revived the "Who Dat?" song from the 80's? :brick: GAH! They played it into the ground back in the day.

I thought the same thing. We didn't stop the run all night, so why would they think we could do it at the end of the game? When they announced that we were going to punt, I yelled, "WHAT?!?!?!?!" Complete shock. I do think we would have at least had a chance and the outcome COULD have been different had we tried the 4th and 15. I mean, we made the 4th and 10, and I will always remember the 4th and 26 against Green Bay! Oh well. Time to focus on the.........sixers?? or um, the..........PHILLIES! yea. That's it.

Great opening on the FOX preview. Jack Bauer rules! :sohappy:

And then we get the antithesis of Jack Bauer: Joe Buck. :hurl: The guy is fine for baseball, because his smarmy comments break up the monotony. But not for football. Please, FOX, bring back James Brown!

I still think it was worth a look in such a crucial game.

The 4th quarter showed why the bye week is so beneficial. The Saints were still "fresh" whilst the Iggles were showing the strains of a short week. The decision to punt sure is a head scratcher...I'd love to know what Reid was thinking.

Yes, and now there are many variations of it. The original, country, hip-hop, etc. My favorite song right now is "This is the Way We Live"

The hardest working man in pregame business?

They didn't dwell on any of the close calls. Usually they look at these things from half a dozen angles and replay it in slow motion. I don't recall them doing that for the Saints' Hail Mary attempt or the Eagles' false-start. Must be the NFL trying to protect the refs from second-guessers. :lookaroun

I blame Scott.

Congratulations Saints!
:sohappy:
Yeah, it would've been better to read about it in the morning.

Now that was a great game the Saints just won. Impressive. I thought Reggie Bush was going to pull a Romo there at the end, but the Eagles couldn't capitalize. Must be heck of a party down in New Orleans right now. Congrats Saints.
Thanks love...... people were crazy...we are one happy city right now..:)
gotcha!

I'm kinda looking forward to losing the bet now.
Now I just need to find someone to make me a good one for you..;)
Every once in a great while...

I thought you guys were all partying down on Bourbon Street. Hope to see y'all up here next week, though I'm sure you're all going to be Seattle Seahawks fans for one day.
I was partying with friends....GO SEAHAWKS!!!
You should have been jumping up and down.

I was...:sohappy: :D

I will be on Boubon if they get to the Super Bowl

Entertaining game, and a game effort from the Seabirds. The NFC title game should be interesting.

In here, Sherman remains perfect and sits atop the mountain, while magicfan moves into second.

I can't take another game like today...It's not as fun when it's your team playing.

Good Job Seahawk fans...The Bears had luck on their side today.

Now comes the one I think a lot of us have been waiting for. It's always weird to me to realize that one team is taking the field for the first time this deep into the postseason. 7 of 12 teams eliminated, and the Chargers are about to take their first snap.

11 people get the points with a Charger win, five people score with a Pats win, and a fluke in bracketing means three people will get points either way this afternoon.
