NFL Playoff Predictions

I'm getting kind of bored with the NFL...

It's always the same teams year after year...which is why I picked the Chargers and Seahawks to go further.

Jets, Colts, Pats, Rams, Eagles, Packers, Steelers...it's always the same...year after year.

Last year was cool because the Panthers were in it...so it mixed it up a little.

I watched both games and I thought of you. I felt bad knowing what you must have been going through!!!! Sorry!
(root for the Eagles now for me! We've never won the Superbowl!)

Don't get too down on the NFL playoffs always including the same teams. Atlanta is a relative newcomer, as was San Diego, certainly. I think there are several teams that COULD knock New England off its perch this year and with the Eagles' injuries, the NFC team is anyone's guess.

Some of the NFL teams who "always" are in the playoffs who aren't:
1. Dallas
2. San Francisco
3. Miami
4. Buffalo
* I won't list the Titans, but they have had a great recent run, until this year.

Midnight came for my Cinderella team yesterday - the Chargers, but there are several fun teams still in it. The Colts just might score 100 someday.

Bri, would you like for the Patriots to offer their spot to the Chargers, since San Diego came so close yesterday? Perhaps that would make the field more interesting for you? :D :animwink:

Wilt...I would NEVER give anybody the "Pats' spot" although...I'm rooting for them, but it's looking dismal now that they have to face the Colts. (Ty Law is out for the season...no chance of him returning like everybody had thought). Yes, I know that one player doesn't make a team (being a Pats fan, nobody knows this more) but against Peyton Manning, we need the strongest secondary we can have.

I was just teasin' ya, you crazy chowd. :animwink: I know who you'll be rooting for until it's either tre-ja vu or it's all "ovah."

But I think these playoffs have been pretty exciting so far. The Rams and Jets both looked like crap coming in (well, ok, the Rams had won 2 in a row and were playing a team they had swept, but still, they were a monument to inconsistency this year) and to see them both win close games like they did made me glad I watched both games all the way through yesterday. A lot of those teams that are there "ever year" don't have anything to show for it yet (Eagles and Colts most notably), the Steelers and Falcons have been great comeback stories this season, and how can you not love Brett freakin' Favre and Green Bay coming back from 1-4 to win their division? (Even though they might not be around after tonight the way their defense has played first half.)

I think that top to bottom, the NFL playoffs are only rivaled by March Madness in terms of any sport's championship march year in and year out...but that's my opinion.

(And you know my name...feel free to use it, huh?) :p

Told ya! :animwink:

Watch NE win--I missed three of the four games this weekend.

So now it begins. There's a lump in my throat, I'm nervous. Now it really starts, now is when it counts. All the fun and excitement throughout the year, it means nothing. This is everything. The real Eagles haven't been seen since TO went down. How are we gonna look? How has Andy Reid been tickering with this team in the last month? I don't know. All I can do is trust him and believe in them. We know the enemy now, Minnesota. The first roadblock in our path for redemption. *deep breath* This will probably be my last post about football for a while. I'm entering that freaky mindset now where I can't talk about it.

Again with the rematches...at least 3 out of 4 next week were played in the regular season. Not sure about Rams-Falcons, and I'm too lazy to look it up.

Edit: Curiosity beat laziness. The Falcons beat St. Louis in Week 2. So...8 games, all regular season rematches. Wonder if that's ever happened before.

Hang in there Vince! Sure, we're slightly nervous, but it will be alright! We can beat Minnesota! Like your avatar says, I Believe in You! Believe! It's our year! We're in this together bud! :D
