Thank you Seattle and thank you Oakland. Now of course since Seattle won it might hurt our chances of making a wildcard. However I really want to win the division. A wildcard of course is better than nothing, however I would rather win the division. So if Dallas wins the rest of their games they win the division and make the playoffs. If they don't win the rest of their games they might make the playoffs, depending on how many games they win and which games they win. Basically the most important thing is Dallas needs to win as many games as they can.

This is why I never like to say a team is the Super Bowl champion until they actually will win the Super Bowl.
My Super Bowl favorites are whoever get hot going into the postseason. Atlanta has won 3 of its part 4 games... they could potentially be a hot team going into the postseason. But they have to win their division first.

In the post game presser after the win against the Chargers, Bill Belichick set a new record.

He used 41 different clichés during his opening statement. He followed up answering direct questions with 30 clichés often including specific players names. That sets the total at 71 monotone clichés in under 4 minutes.

P.S. Mike McCoy tried to compete in the clichés category, but fell short much like his team this evening.

Brett Favre is rumored to be attending the game tonight against the Falcons. Although I've also heard he might just be in Green Bay for a banquet. But if he does, it'll be his first time returning to Lambeau Field since he played there with the Vikings.

Someone told me if the Packers lose tonight they fall out the playoffs to 7th place, that's crazy of true! Means they should play their butts off to beat Atlanta and keep my Saints in the mix for worst record making the playoffs!

How do you reseed them though? Do you just take the 6 best records from each conference? Or maybe what I'm thinking is to keep the current format but add a rule stating all playoff teams must be at least 8-8 and if not another wildcard is added?

I've already said that I like the seeding how it is, but the only way to keep the divisions fully intact and keep those rivalries that drive the league, then you'd have to give the division winner a playoff birth, but then do the seedings based off record. For example, using the current record and not projecting, if Atlanta wins the NFC South at 5-7, then it would go...

1. Cardinals
2. Packers
3. Eagles

4. Seahawks
5. Lions
6. Falcons

That way you still have the division winners as labeled in red, then the other two are the wildcard seeds. However, winning the division would not guarantee a home playoff game, just a playoff birth. I don't like this as much as the current system, though.

It's supposed to be 33 degrees at kickoff tonight, with a mix of rain/snow with it turning into snow during the game. Also supposed to snow throughout the game, although I'm not sure if it's enough to accumulate. But boy do the Falcons have a good way of bringing crappy weather conditions to Lambeau! :p

The Falcons have a lot of fight in them! Despite them having at best an 8-8 record in the playoffs, I don't think I'd want to travel to Atlanta to play a playoff game. They are a couple playmakers on defense away from being back to legitimate contenders.

Manziel is getting the start on Sunday. I am not happy about the Johnny Football era beginning in Cleveland, but I guess they have to give him a shot. Hoyer just hasn't been playing well the last few games. I don't have a lot of confidence that Johnny will do well either, but I guess we'll see.

Hoyer stat that is fatal... 1 TD and 8 INTs in the last 3 or 4 games (forget the game count).

I'm not a fan of musical chair QBs... but Hoyer needed to be flawless to hold off the Manziel push.. and he did great.. right up to the point where he got killed :)

Just saw pictures of Newton's crash. His car was laying on its side, and apparently his car rolled 2 or 3 times. Also just heard that the Panthers do not believe Newton has any major injuries at this point.

In other news, Cam Newton was in a car accident in Charlotte, and has been taken to the hospital via ambulance. Hope he's okay.

2 fractures in his back. Espn is saying it almost the same injury Romo has been playing with but at the same time romo didn't also have whip lash and other car accident related injuries with it.

If this isn't the biggest fantasy football blowout you've ever seen, I don't know what is! I'm in my fantasy playoffs as the 2 seed with a 5 game winning streak.

The Packers and Cardinals can both clinch a playoff spot this week in very doable scenarios, although neither can clinch it with just a win.

For the AFC, the Broncos, Patriots and Colts can clinch with a win or tie.

Here's what I think they could do if they change the playoffs. If you win your division you have to at least have a 9-7 record to for sure make the playoffs. If you win the division with a record of 8-8 or 8-7-1, you don't for sure get in.

Also out of the 6 teams in each conference that makes the playoffs. The team with a better record always gets a higher seed. So if a wildcard team is 11-5 and a division winner is 9-7, the team that is 11-5 gets a higher seed than the team that is 9-7.

The division rivalries would still be big because you would still have to play every team in your division 2 times every year. Also usually if you win the division you at least have a record of 9-7.

This would stop teams with a record of 8-8 or 7-9 or 6-10 from for sure getting into the playoffs and having a home playoff game just because they won their division. Now if a team has a record of 8-8 and still have the 6th best record in their conference they could get into the playoffs if they win the tiebreakers over any other team that might have a record of 8-8.
