Gameday!! Even if the starters do only play for one or two drives, I'm still excited. I'm interested to see if Vince Young plays. McCarthy says he wants all 4 QBs to play, so we'll see.

Randy Moss will be joining the Fox crew this fall. His role has not been determined, but I hope it's not a huge one. I don't like that guy at all.

I just found this thread now...hope I am not too late to the party ;)
Anyway, I am beyond excited about football being back. My Giants are on tomorrow! Time sure does fly. Hopefully this will be another great season, with the Eagles coming in last place again :p

Packers play in less than 30 minutes! Eddie Lacy wont play, but still excited to see Jonathan Franklin and the other rookies.

First three drives:

- Cardinals punt
- Packers turnover on downs on the opposing 1 yard line - Thank you refs for getting the challenge wrong.
- Cardinals punt

Highlight of the game: Rodgers to Jones for 50 yards.

Like the way we look so far!

Update: Since I praised the Packers, we've thrown and interception and let the Cardinals throw a TD pass. The INT was from our backup, though...

I'll keep my mouth shut now.

Sounds about like how the Falcons backups first series went yesterday.

Who's y'all's backup? Flynn is the last one i remember.
Flynn left via FA to the Seahawks last offseason and now he's the starter for Oakland. Since then we'be had Graham Harrell (Texas Tech). He was awful last preseason, and it looks the same so far this year. We have a competition between Harrell, BJ Coleman, and newly acquired Vince Young for the backup job.

Yeah I remember Flynn being the highest paid backup QB EVER thanks to Russel Wilson. None of those names ring a bell. I bet Vince wins the backup job easy.

It's only been a couple days with Young being here, but so far he's had bad reports. We need something better because if Rodgers goes down we're screwed.

The Falcons are in the same situation. If Matt goes down, that's it for us.

In other news, I just saw it tweeted that Geno Smith went down with an ankle injury. Not good for the Jets.

Packers 1st round pick Datone Jones (DE) went down with an ankle injury, too. Hope it's not bad as he's supposed to be a difference maker for our defense this season.

Packers go scoreless in their preseason opener. Best looking backup QB was Vince Young, but he really didn't play long, and he mostly ran when he did.

I very much see the Falcons heading into the season where the Ravens were before... just needing to get over that hump.

Now I don't think 'winning one playoff game' makes you a superbowl contender in itself... but the Falcons have a lot of similarities in their strengths that should make them very dangerous. They just need to rid themselves of their own restraints (choking, road play, etc).

They need to play better outdoors, too. Every season they have at least 9 indoor games (8 at home, one versus the Saints.) Look at the Giants playoff game a couple of years ago... they scored one safety. That won't cut it in the playoffs.
