From what I understand, it's SF vs. GB, NO vs Phi-Dal winner in the NFC while SD vs. CIN and KC-IND in the AFC for the wild card rounds. DEN and NE are the top two in the AFC while SEA and CAR are the top two in the NFC.

Wild game in Chicago. The Bears played a very good game, but what a season the Packers have gone through. Looking like a bleak season early on with a 1-2 record. Then we win four straight to go 5-2. From there we go winless after the Rodgers injury, before finally beating the Falcons with a comeback victory. Then the huge comeback against Dallas, then the disappointment versus the Steelers. And now a last minute win against the Bears to make the playoffs. Not to mention all of the losses we needed from the Bears and Lions. I don't think a season has ever been this stressful for me.

Chargers are probably my 2nd favorite team in the league. Don't know what it is, but I like them.

(I feel like I've posted that before, so if I have, I'm sorry.)

@acishere, it looks like I have beaten you. Good fight, but it seems I was somehow able to pull off third worst after being dead last for the past few weeks.

Also, I was very close to the tie-breaking score this week. Score was 23-20, I picked 27-20.

There's always that one team that always seems to choke and you feel for them every time. It's one thing to experience a championship drought but it's another to never win anything. San Diego hasn't won any championships as far I know. Not one from the Padres and Chargers. (Some may count the Rockets two titles but they were won as being a Houston team.) Same holds true for Buffalo. The Bills and Sabres have been trophyless. (Seattle has one trophy, the Sonics title in the 70s but now that they've moved to OKC, well, nothing more needs to said about that!)

Other than that, I'm stumped. I mean, if you greatly respected Dan Fouts, Tomlinson and Kellen Winslow Sr, I get that. I mean, I don't have a second team myself but I've always greatly respected Green Bay because of Starr, Favre, Reggie White, the fan base and front offices and above all, Vince Lombardi. (One of the greatest coaches of all-time.)

I mean, I don't necessarily cheer for the Chargers, but if I had a pick, they would be my pick for the AFC. I remember when I first started getting into football, the second game I watched that weekend was the Chargers and someone else. That could be it.

I think @GoofGoof just won pick em. I went the other way with the SF-Ari pick and well, it cost me.
Technically you two tied.

I was pretty close to changing both my Lions and Dolphins picks, but decided against it. If I would have done that, and if the Eagles win tonight, I would have had a perfect week! Oh well, I've had an amazing few weeks in pick'ems, so I'm not complaining!

Surprised the Browns fired their coach after one season. Seems like he kept his team competitive, despite multiple QB injuries. Wonder what they will do with the QB situation next season. Brian Hoyer was playing really well until he tore his ACL. I'd be surprised if they didn't draft a QB, though.

Kyle Orton throws an interception with a minute 40 left with Dallas trailing 24-22. Romo sure taught him well :P
But Orton played amazing tonight, what a game.

Cowboys end 8-8 again and lose the division in the final week of the season. I heard somewhere that the Cowboys have the worst record in the league in week 17 since 2000. I think they've won twice.

Had to sweat that one out;).

Stinkin Jets killed my perfect week.

I'll take tie for first. I had a slow start, but picked it up late. Congrats to all on a good season. Is there any kind of playoff pool going?

4th time in the last 6 seasons they lost the division in week 17. Couldn't happen to a more deserving guy than Jerry Jones:).

Ok.. week 17 is over and the results are totaled!

First, thanks to everyone who participated in the pick'em game. It wasn't perfect, but I think it added another element for us to rally around here on the site and was all in good fun.

Now, we started the pick'em game in week two.. so week 1 is not in the totals. Only three of the regulars put in picks for week 1 on the thread, and I've gone back and tabulated those and we said early on we would add those in.. so for week 1, Push, afarese, and jw24 all picked 10-6.. so as the unofficial scorekeep of the unofficial pool.. I'm adding 10 to each of their totals.

Here was week 17...
week17.jpg

And the group totals (w/o week 1)
group total.jpg

So by my count..
jw24 is our big winner at 159!
afarese 155
Push 151
GoofGoof 149
Disney Dawf Fan 145
acishere2 140
flynnibus 140

So my emotional picks of praying for the Ravens, and hoping GB would lose... put me officially in last place!

Congrats to jw24!

now if we can just convince @wdwmagic to give you a crown :D

So how about those playoffs?

ESPN doesn't carry over to the playoffs.. so we'll have to shift to another system to continue. I've created a group on Yahoo which does go into the playoffs. This also gives us some exposure to other systems to see what we like better for next year :)

Same straight up format.. picks, no spreads.

Join the group at http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/pickem

The group info is
Group ID#: 75559

@GoofGoof, @jw24, @afarese, @PUSH, @acishere, disney dawg... go go go go :)

Joined the Yahoo group with a new account - just because I want to keep my personal account separate. I don't know if this is every week, but I don't like how the picks aren't available until Tuesday or later. I typically do my picks Monday night or Tuesday morning. Could just be for the playoffs, though.
