Yeah.. so much for the new NFL rule about running backs lowering their helmet. I don't think I saw it called once this year..

That should've been a penalty, but I don't think anyone, including the refs, know what is and isn't against the rules anymore. IMO the rule book is too big in the NFL. That's why there are crap calls and confusion during the games.

Completely forgot about my Week 1 picks. Didn't think I would win. So far as of 12:07 ET, Leslie Frazier, Jim Schwartz, Greg Schiano and Mike Shanahan have been fired. Not surprised.

Bill O'Brien is considered the favorite for the Texans job, and Lovie Smith is considered the favorite for the Buccaneers job. Smith is also well-liked by the Lions.

Also, there was a huge missed call in the KC-SD game. You arent allowed to have more then 6 players on a side.

The NFL admitted they made a mistake. Mike Tomlin, I recall, was riled up about that. Then again, SD making the playoffs, some may say it's justice for what happened earlier with the tripping attempt against the Ravens. So if they were to call the penalty, I assume it would've been 4th and 7 but a 36 yarder. Who knows if he would've made or missed it. (He was 9-10 from the 30-39 yd range this season according to stats.) But jeez, another bad break for Succop. I remember seeing this guy in college. He had a chance to beat the Florida Gators in '06-07 season (When Tebow was a freshman) but Jarvis Moss blocked his game winning kick and I think he also blocked the tying extra point earlier as well. Hard to believe that Florida was one kick away from not getting to the title game.

Speaking of Tebow, this guy is going to be an analyst for the SEC Network apparently. Great, another reason to turn away from SportsCenter. He'll have ten times more appearances than Kirk Herbstreit, Mark May and Lou Holtz put together!

The Packers get to travel to both Seattle and New Orleans next year... the two toughest places to play in the league. :banghead:

After Joe Flacco's big contract, he repays his team with the 32nd ranked passer rating in the league. I wonder how many fans are questioning his contract now (like I was from the beginning).

We all were - he was a lousy player last year who lucked out, then got quite too full of himself. Ravens fans must be so proud...

Home Opener @ Philly since 2009
2009 - Saints, won SB
2010 - Packers, won SB
2011 - Giants, won SB
2012 - Ravens, won SB
2013 - Chargers, ???
Chargers are probably considered the worst team in the playoffs, so it would make sense if you are going by SB victories in recent years.

They have a favorable path. Cincy hasn't won a playoff game in so many years, they beat Denver in Denver earlier in the regular season and even if NE were to make it, I think that is the time where the injuries really start to hurt them. If they don't face NE, then they could face KC or IND (Teams that they've beaten before.)

The Chargers have won 4 straight, so they could be considered a hot team. I think both the NFC and AFC are wide open this season. Obviously Seattle is the favorite, but they are vulnerable.
