Those pesky Chargers. Ruining picks across the globe.

Picks?.... It has the potential to change more than just picks.

1. Looks like SD is gonna win out. Home vs Oakland, then home again against a KC team that they've beat already and may be locked into their seed. Strong possibility they take the last spot.

2. Denver needs 'help' to regain the top seed.

3. If NE loses one of the next 3, and Denver chokes again, then Cincy can take the top seed.

4. To supplant SD, either Mia or Bal need to win 2 out of the next 3. One won't cut it. Miami only has one lock (the Jets) and Baltimore has none (and may lose out - though the Gronk injury + Pitta back gives them a better shot in the NE game - but they have - by far - the toughest schedule of any pining for that last spot).

Interesting that they opted to flex out the NE-BAL game (a rematch of last years AFC title, both teams in the playoffs if it ended now, and what could be called a rivalry game - for a contest between 2 teams that may both be on the outside looking in after week 17).

NO - Carolina rematch that week. Wouldn't be surprised if FOX sent Buck & Aikman to do Dallas/Washington instead...

I see it the other way... SD NEEDS to win out and NEEDS Miami to lose 2 of 3. Miami can beat the bills and jets. So SD is the one who needs the moons to align. SD has a long longer to go than Miami does.

2. Denver needs 'help' to regain the top seed.

I wouldn't call it help.. just that Pats can't win out.

The Cinncy possibility is the most interesting.. but still takes a lot of cards to fall.

I mean it is December. And you know what goes on in Dallas in December. Packers still have a shot
The Dallas curse hurts the Packers, though. The Packers haven't won in Dallas against the Cowboys (because we did win the Super Bowl there) since 1989. I think the Packers can move the ball, but can we stop the Cowboys' offense?

I don't like the Packers defense and I don't trust the offensive line of the Packers despite the cowboys not having a good defense this year.
The defense and offensive line were actually doing very well before Rodgers got injured. We were a top 5 run defense, and our offensive line was hardly talked about at all. Flynn has been the biggest problem for sacks; he holds the ball too long. I'd rather have sacks than interceptions, though.

I haven't thought this entire season that the Broncos are a Super Bowl caliber team. Here's my take on the thing: The Broncos are like the Packers from 2011. Their passing game is amazing, but that's about it. That can win you regular season games, but that's not playoff football. You look at all the recent Super Bowl winners, and they have been able to run the ball and be physical on defense. Two things I question whether the Broncos can do. The playoffs are about physicality IMO.

The Broncos should have had that game Thursday night. I'm beginning to question (yet again) Manning's durability in the playoffs.

Much like any of the super-QB teams... the way to beat them is keep the QB off the field. Time of possession and a reliable running game that can avoid long 3rd downs.

It's also about who gets hot at the right time. The Ravens barely made the playoffs last year and then they heated up late and won the Super Bowl. And in 2011, the Giants were 7-7 with the worst run game in the league and one of the worst defenses, but they got hot and win the next 6 to take the Super Bowl.

I don't think many of us will be changing rankings in the pick'ems. Almost all of us chose the exact same teams. :p

Interesting stat- only two active QB's have winning records vs Peyton Manning. Tom Brady, which isn't surprising, and Phillip Rivers.
