The ravens game was the most insane football game I've ever experienced.

This was the view as the raven's took the field...

The snow was coming down at like 2" an hour. The cell phone pictures don't show the active snow fall. They couldn't keep up on the field at all in the first quarter and were lucky to have a few lines on the field cleared at all. It looked like a backyard football match in the first few series.. everyone going so slow.. and basically just a scrum when they ran and pass rush. I have more photos but not off my phone yet

Here you can see where they had already tried to clear the goal line and out of bounds.. and look how covered it was again already.

The game recaps I've read so far don't do the game justice at all. They don't even mention the plays that really lead up to the Jones return being so important. The game was insane... total joy over being ecstatic.. than just 1-2 plays and a total collapse.. and you're down. Then repeat... and repeat again. On top of that the Raven's touchdowns included substantial reviews adding to the drama.

Adrian Peterson has tweeted complaining about the fans being 'the worst fan base i've ever experienced' because there were snowballs thrown in the 4th quarter. Obviously the guy has never seen what can happy in a game in Philly :)

The fans weren't throwing snowballs until the total celebration started in the 4th. Almost simultaneously in the celebration over Jones' return... snow balls started flying. Then, basically each time there was a huge celebration, snow started going everywhere. And in context, the amount of snowballs was nothing compared to the notorious games in the past at other stadiums. I think AP is more bitter his replacement ran better than he did.

A game for the ages in terms of remembering just how many highs and lows can happen in such a short time period - 5 touchdowns, 3 lead changes, all in just 2:01... can't wait to watch it on the DVR.
That makes me want a hot chocolate....or two....or three.....

I mean.. you can see from my photos where we sit vs the field... I saw a snowball go from my basically height and hit a camera guy square on top of the head. I'm sure it hurt but if it was a continuing problem they could have dealt with it.

Reality was.. once all that scoring started... it was pandemonium... AP is just being a baby and won't let it go.

Whether they could have dealt with it or not, it is still classless.

What the few Ravens fans did was wrong and classless, but AP didn't have to whine over it on social media
Yes, although I personally never would have done that (nor would I ever be at a game in the snow:rolleyes: anyway...) he was not on the field of play at the time (I would have been more disappointed if they did it to someone on the playing field), and whining about it just makes him seem like a sore loser. Also, Philly fans have been known to do that as well, so writing off the whole Ravens fan base because of the actions of a minority (seriously, a lot of people could not even make it to the game because the roads are so bad and MD just isn't equipped to handle it like states farther north) is petty and childish. This is coming from a Ravens fan: most of us think it was classless, but must he whine about it? It just makes him sound whiny because he lost the game.

Then keep it in a neighborhood backyard and not a professional sporting venue during a professional sport game.
Keep in mind that this is the same group of fans that came up with the BS cheer last year when they disagreed with the refs. I'm disappointed, but not surprised. (Although the BS thing was funny!)

But either way is wrong because the person you were quoting isn't wrong. They are right. If someone is over the age of 5 in public...then they should conduct themselves as such; whether at a football game or not.

Someone should have told the NFL players they can't play in the snow either... because they were too in the pregame.

You're missing out :) That was the most amazing professional game experience I had in my life (tho that was more due to the final 3mins :) ). Wearing waterproof shoes, pants, and a jacket (basically my snow clothes) it was no big deal at all. We rode the light rail in from the north and walked right up to the stadium. I was far more cold back in the days in the wind in December in Memorial Stadium.

This is coming from the person who won't go sledding:p...my parents are season ticket holders and were planning on going, but to get to the light rail is over a fifteen minute drive. That's...a bit of time to get into an accident. I get to go to about one game a year usually. This year I didn't go just because it didn't work out. Last year I got to see the 55 point game. Oh, and the Thanksgiving game against the 49ers that one year. Our seats are upper deck, so it's always very cold up there. :coldfeet:

and there's a difference between playing in the snow and beaning a camera guy square on the top of his head.

Poor judgement.. no doubt. But seriously.. people have never seen poor judgement at every college or football game where people tailgate all day and then drink beer for 3 hours in the stadium?

But you all are taking this as if people were like 'screw that guy...' angry or attacking or something. It's more like 'dude, I bet you can't reach the field from here...'

Stupid - yes. Spiteful.. angry.. or belligerent? No

add classless to that list and I'll agree.

Sorry Father Vincent... I swear everyone will be on their best behavior from now on :arghh: Please don't use the ruler on our knuckles again

Boo f'in hoo. A great example of the difference of being there vs reading about it on the news.

RIR (I know you know what that is) has its fair share of fights go down. But it never affects the sport itself. Or disrupts the drivers. That is my sole issue, not what they do in the stands, taking it to the field is a problem

15mins? I left at 8:45am to get there for the 1pm game.. :)
Oh gosh. No 15 minutes to the station through backroads that are particularly slick to the light rail. We usually drive down to the city (actually, I don't even remember the last time that it was I was on the light rail) and they felt like they couldn't do it safely. Believe me, they wanted to go, but safety first

It had zero impact on the game or playing field. Players in the game or the like weren't getting hit, etc. When AP was complaining about being hit.. he was a spectator on the field.

Ravens fans are very passionate and supportive of their team. It's why they lit the city purple for the Super Bowl. It's why you can't have a conversation with the person next to you when the Ravens are on defense. Everyone gets so excited about the Ravens (and are getting that way about the Orioles too to a degree) and sometimes they take it too far. But I'm inclined to think that this is a minority that was throwing the snowballs, and they were probably excited over the first snow fight of the season

At the same time, whining about it over social media is unsportsman-like. It just made him seem like a crybaby who was mad about losing. And as I Ravens fan, I found it insulting that he derided the whole fanbase based on the actions of a few. And he was exaggerating. Ice sticks to the ground. All he got was ice mixed in with the snow. I've had those thrown at me. They don't hurt.

Regardless, I smell a new rivalry here...
