Being a Giants fan, I am obligated to say good things about Parcells because he coached them to the first two SB wins. Watching the America's Games documentaries for the '86 and '90 Giants really made him a respectable coach. He was no nonsense and got results. Now if the Giants could have an unstoppable defense like they did '86 and '90, I'd like the chances of the G-men this season. The Giants have never had an elite LB since Lawrence Taylor and I think finding and developing one is crucial in the NFC Beast division.

I'm officially excited for this season! Watched the Packers Family Night scrimmage, and we look dangerous. Rodgers and the starters played one drive and took the ball down the field with minimal disruption (granted it was against the number 2 defense). Eddie Lacy looked amazing, and James Starks and Alex Green both bad some nice plays, too.

The biggest downfall was that Mason Crosby was terrible, worst than last season, actually. He has competition from an Italian guy, and he looked much better.

Looking forward to the season!

Different defenses now... now they seek the big DE to rush the edge... and they've had some of those!

Conversation I had with a Steelers fan...
Dark Side: The Ravens suck
Me: Uh huh. Yeah. They really suck. Sucked so badly they won the Superbowl. And didn't the Steelers not even make the playoffs?
Dark side: Uh, yeah, well, they still suck
Me: Whatever you say. When you're ready to come back from the dark side, let me know.

Great speeches by all the guys in the HOF class of 2013 last night. Really thought that Parcells did a terrific job with his! Next up for this football fan - my Dolphins taking on the Cowboys in the HOF game tonight! Can't believe it's that time of year already

I know it's only preseason, but I am excited for some actual game play. Romo's not playing tomorrow (or today for eastern time zones), so it won't even be a real preseason game.

Come on guys, I hate Romo as much as the next person (actually it's more of a hate for the Cowboys), but he's not an awful QB. I'd take him over most of the QBs in the league right now. But I do enjoy some Romo jokes. :D

Romo is known for the clutch failures...
sanchez is the one with the rap for just being awful period :)

I can't imagine this not being the last year of the rex ryan circus..

I agree with the Rex Ryan thing. Unless they make the playoffs somehow (which would be the biggest miracle ever), he's out.

I can't even see making the playoffs offset it.. unless they won it all (but reference Trent Dilfer there :) ). The new GM has to be the death knell for Ryan. I think they just didn't do it this year for lack of a suitable substitute plan.

I can even see him getting fired mid-season. Their schedule is no cake-walk in the first 8 games... I think there is safe vegas money betting rex could be fired heading into the bye week.

Atleast I see my resident Raven fans here and accounted for ....@flynnibus....@StarWarsGirl95.... Don't be to quick to write the Ravens off this year. Do I think that they could duplicate last season?.....just maybe. The worst thing they have going for them is that nobody has repeated in years. On the upside it wouldn't be to difficult to duplicate a 10-6 record as it might seem. No other Super Bowl winning team has lost as many starters the next season as the Ravens have. So you say that hurts the Ravens?.....not so fast.....my little Steeler fans. Was Ray Lewis and Ed Reed two of the best to ever play their respective positions? Absolutely....but they were no where near that level last year. If you forgot Lewis missed six games.

The news out of Houston is that Ed Reed has had a tough time getting on the field....injury? nope....getting outplayed by younger players. Player after player has played in the Baltimore defensive system and went elsewhere to find out they are not as good as they thought.

The Ravens Defense will be younger and faster....they actually have gotten better at most positions on the "D". On offense the biggest loss was losing Anquan Bolden. If it wasn't for him the Ravens don't win the Super Bowl......plain and simple. Someone needs to step up. Flacco finally showed he is a top QB in the league. Early reports are were that one of the missing pieces for this club would be the void in leadership left by the retirement of Ray Lewis. Flacco has seemed to help fill that void.

Oh......BTW.....the 2011 defensive player of the year...Terrell Suggs looks incredible. They say he has his explosiveness back and is in incredible shap. So we have a 100% Suggs on one side and Elvis Dumerville on the other. Ladarious Webb who missed last season is back. Ray Rice should be at the pinnacle of his career.

So to those who think the Ravens are in decline.....I have one piece of advice for you.....don't bet against them. Also for those who would take Matt Ryan over Flacco......tsk tsk. You guys never will learn.

I think the Ravens will make the playoffs, just as a wild card team. I think the Bengals take a step forward and win the division this year. They've had a couple of good drafts strung together to make me believe otherwise.

And I'd still take Ryan over Flacco.
