Here's why I think it was a bad call. It's early in the game.. less pressure on Harbaugh to push for the 7 instead of taking the 3. Plus, no matter how you cut it, taking the penalty gives the 49s an additional chance.

Roger's accuracy was poor in the 1st half, but he cleaned it up in the 2nd. The packer's defense definitely upp'd their game compared to last season. They made some good tackles at times.. but the # of options Kap had they couldn't cover them all. I think they played a bit safe with the safeties.

Boldin had a lot to prove and he certainly made his point :(
A couple of Rodgers' passes looked poorly thrown, but it was actually the receivers running a bad route. There were one or two where Rodgers could've done better, but he was still his usual self overall.

As for the safeties, we were dangerously thin at safety. Morgan Burnett was injured, and he is by far our best safety. He's a type of physical guy you want covering Boldin.

Factoid from the Westwood One radio guy...

For reigning Super Bowl champs.. the most # of starters lost for the year of their defense of the title... Five.

The number of starters lost for the 2013 Ravens compared to the super bowl team.. Ten.

I have Wilson and Cruz on my fantasy team, as well. Cruz was great. I made the mistake of starting Wilson over Frank Gore and now I think I'm losing this week. My opposition has Andre Johnson and Houston's defense tomorrow and if I lose, well, I'm never benching Gore again! One thing is for certain, I drafted Eli Manning but I am strongly considering dropping him. (I also have Matt Schaub and Kaepnerick on my team. Started Kaepernick and that turned out decent!) One, the inconsistency and turnovers. Two, I need another RB because Gore and Wilson have the same bye week so for that week, I highly doubt I'll find a decent one week rental for a RB by that time!

Fantasy aside, that game was a nightmare. Turnovers, no ground game, poor defense. All the ingredients for a guaranteed defeat if you're the Giants! I'm still irate at Killdrive calling for Eli to throw to Scott when you have elite receivers out there! And I would never call a screen pass when my team is trailing in the 4th and they need a game winning drive for a TD! Not in a million years!

I had Cruz last season. He was amazing one week than disappeared the next. I drafted Wilson mainly just because I'm in a 12 person league and was low on options for RB-2. I'm replacing him with Eddie Lacy next week.

Definitely stay with Kaepernick, but unless there is someone on the waivers worth picking up I'd look around at your opponents players and see if you can get a good trade out of Eli.

Sloppy, sloppy game last night. Horrible play by both teams, but I'll still give the Cowboys credit for not turning the ball over so much. The fact we turned the ball over 6 times and lost by 5 is shocking. Gotta straighten out for next week in the Manning bowl

I thought the Giants had a chance.. when it was only a 2 score game with plenty of time... the opportunity was there. But having TWO tipped balls picked up as INTs... it just wasn't Eli's night.

ESPN continues to be their old biased self. In every report I've seen, they make it seem like the 49ers dominated the Packers... uh huh... whatever you say ESPN.

And Jim Harbaugh is an idiot.
