In last season's NFL thread I would do a "What I've Learned from This Week" thing, so why not do it again?
What I've learned through week 1 (now keep in mind, teams aren't really themselves yet. It takes time to get a team going, and I think that's why there were so many mistakes in week 1).
- The Ravens looked good coming out of the gates, but quickly became a team that is full of flaws and mistakes.
- The Broncos looked like a great passing team, but their running game looked average at the very best.
- The Patriots got the win, but there were problems all over. Receivers and tight ends look like a problem until Gronkowski returns.
- The Bills almost beat the Patriots. Take away whatever you want from that.
- The Seahawks lacked star power on offense. 12 points is not going to cut it in this league. On the other hand, their defense held the Panthers to 7 points.
- The Bengals look like they could be a very good team, but they need to limit the turnovers.
- The Bears' defense looks like a turnover machine thus far, but was it really them, or was it the Bengals?
- Miami beat the Browns. Didn't really see/hear much about the game to tell anything about them.
- Adrian Peterson had one good run and a bunch of mediocre runs, 2,500 yards? Not off to a good start.
- The Lions defense looked solid, but their offense had a lot of mistakes.
- Terrelle Pryor looked good for the most part and almost led the Raiders to a victory over Indy.
- The Jaguars haven't changed.
- The Chiefs have changed.
- The Falcons lost to a tough division rival. Their season is not over.
- The Saints won against a tough division rival. Their season could be looking bright.
- The Jets WON?! This is the big shocker of the week.
- The Buccaneers should be embarrassed for obvious reasons.
- The Titans had the Steelers' number the entire day. Is this a sign of week one hiccups by the Steelers or the Titans can be a playoff team?
- The Packers run defense is by far better than last year. They hung with the best team in football and proved they are tough, and they can contend for a title.
- The 49ers looked like a Super Bowl team. Anquan Boldin for a 6th round pick? Steal.
- The Cardinals have potential to make some noise. They scored 24 points on a tough Rams defense.
- The Giants shouldn't have been that close to a victory. There were far too many mistakes, and they frankly weren't ready to start the season.
- The Cowboys are off to a strong start with a division win, but can they keep it up?
- The Eagles took advantage of a rusty RGIII. Will the Eagles and Redskins remain this way, or was week 1 just a fluke?
- The Chargers collapsed... shocker.
- The Texans could make some noise, but can't afford to fall behind by 21 points again.
Normally I won't do all 32 teams, but I figured I should week 1.
