New WDW show on Food Channel

Thanks for the heads up Steve!

My wife and I are total Food Network geeks(our favorites are anything starring Alton Brown and Guy Fieri)and we were floored by the news about Robert Irvine as he was one of our favorite chefs. We love Dinner Impossible so we'll definitely Tivo the show. Although I'm really bummed that Robert lied and I have a hard time thinking of him in the same way I'll still probably watch whatever show he turns back up in, he's a great host and he has a great personality. I just don't understand why he felt the need to lie, even without the "royal credentials" he's still an amazing chef and an engaging host.

I hadn't heard the news yet that Michael Simon was replacing Irvine but I am very excited about it as Michael is another one of our favorites. We were rooting for him from the very beginning of The Next Iron Chef. He's gonna be a great host.

Am I the only one who thinks that Robert Irvine looks like Robert Carradine on steroids?

Thank you for the information! I love watching all the Travel/Food Network Disney shows every time they are on. A new show always is so fun to look forward to! :sohappy:

No, but the employer cares. If someone lies on their resume and they are hired over someone else based on those lies, they should lose their job. It's not like he embellished a little. He flat out stated he had qualifications that he didn't have. He caused the Food Network to lie in the opening of every single episode. I think he did an excellent job on the show, but he was dishonest. Anyway, he's learned his lesson and I think we'll see him again. I'll probably watch whatever show he turns up on. People make mistakes.

Oh, I understand that and it's the way it should be. Just for me, I just enjoyed watching it.

Thanks for the reminder. I just set my DVR for that. I tried to set it a few weeks ago when I found out about it, but my schedule guide wasn't set that far in advance, so I couldn't set it at the time! :hammer: SO glad I saw this, I had completely forgotten about it!

I too enjoy Robert Irvine. It is a shame that someone who is so obviously talented needs to lie, rather than just rely on his natural talents. He'd have done well without the lies! If/when he comes back for another show, I'd probably watch it, he is quite entertaining.

Actually, they just delayed it. They are shooting new episodes now. Iron Chef Michael Symon has replaced Irvine.

I wondered about that because this was filmed in 2008. I really like Symon, I liked Irvine okay too but agree he should not have lied. Glad they are not canning the whole show as a result. Does anyone know when the new shows with Symon will start airing?
Thanks for posting, can't wait to watch.

I just found this show while channel surfing. I missed over half of it, so I hope the Food Network reairs it several times so that I'll have a chance to see the beginning.

Where did they go to collect the ingredients? The program info said he went all over the four WDW theme parks.

He collected clues from all the theme parks. Ingredients came from the big Disney warehouse.

I can't believe the Disney PR people let such a poor representation of their kitchens be seen. Over two and a half hours to get things from the warehouse when the kitchen staff promised an hour? (Isn't it delivered by pixie dust and magic?) I realize that the show is about the incredible intensity of getting meals for 300 prepared in short time, but I never thought Disney would allow such backstage craziness to be seen by the public.

And what was up with saying 'Epcot World Showplace'? I had to go back and pause on the clue card. It really did say 'Showplace'.
