New track for SM?

I've always been under the impression that there were other sound effects in the caves...maybe I'm wrong, I just feel like I've heard other noises (barely audible over the ridiculously loud clickety-clank).

And yes--interesting from Screamscape, but can they really gut a ride, put a new track in, theme it, and completely redo the queue (requiring a new coaster design) in roughly a year?

Lee and Martin have been consistent in saying we were still getting a substantial refurb (but not the desired rebuild/overhaul) even when nearly every other source was talking about the project being axed or scaled down to nothing
We`re not that good :D

The project scope is settling. It isn`t nearly as good as it could or would have been, will be better than what TDO wanted, will be better than what we have now, but will still seem lacking in areas.

I believe the covered load proposal was to have a similar vista as what exists now but to eliminate the ride to load and vice versa view.

so in other words.... make a facade that goes vertical above the load area (like a wall) 10-15 higher then it goes now? oy vey

I don't buy it either.

I've been told they're looking at pushing this into 2010 with soft-opening as soon as February, but they definitely want it for the March-April spring break/Easter super busy period.

I was told there is a suspicion going around that that date was put out, so as to not have people who were wavering on holiday trips next year suddenly say 'that's the last straw, let's just wait until 2010' (seriously!)

Although, a caveat is we all know if Phil, Erin and crew had their way this rehab would last two weeks!

So what happens to the backlash when Disney and travel agents tell their guests that Space Mountain is scheduled to open in November?

Even if they are told it's subject to change, you know they will say "iI was told November, now give me my money back".

I don't want to be in guest relations or WDW Communications shoes when it doesn't reopen on time.

Why bother with announcing a date. Was Pirates, HM, IASW, or SSE given a date like this for such a long refurb at such an early date?

Actually, BTMRR's lift is stil not nearly as quiet as E:E. It's better than before, though.

Thanks, it's really not talked enough about here since the reurb. It deserves at least as many threads as the SSE descent. And I am not being sarcastic.
