That would be the ideal art direction, IMO. If you can't go futuristic go retro futuristic! World of Tomorrow by way of 1960s.

As for those rocks... Purple might work. It has that Milky Way galaxy color association.

Of course, I forgot about Disney Jr. Miles from Tomorrowland (not my demographic). When it came out I thought it would be in Tomorrowland ASAP.

re: Jetsons colors, it appeals to kids, it has the 'nostalgia' factor, it's 'cartoony' enough so that Monsters Inc and Buzz Lightyear fit. I'm not sure that I like it? (I prefer the crisp white/ sleek look, but they obviously aren't going back to that). But I could see how the idea could get sold.

The movie 'Tomorrowland' was kind of a mess and to me wasn't all that great and didn't really know what it wanted to be. Not bad or terrible, the message needs to be heard, but the overall presentation ... IDK. I wish it had succeeded but now we're stuck with Sci Fi Fantasyland
The dreamers edit was pretty darned great to be honest. Fixed most problems, mainly clooney's crotchety old man portrayal

Odd, I would say this exact sentence is the biggest problem with the world today. We are all so caught up in ourselves that we cant be bothered to see just how poorly we are treating everyone else or just don't care. And then we sit back and wonder why the world is collapsing around us.
You clipped my post and then argued with it. I did not say "individuals should focus on creating the best possible future for themselves, period." I said "individuals should focus on creating the best possible futures for themselves, their families, and their communities." Globalism and global thinking has led to the destruction of the family and the local neighborhood.

That may have been true 50 years ago, but today the very definition of community is changing. Thanks to technology we live in a *global* community. And the problems we face can't be solved exclusively at the local level. Zika was confirmed this morning in south Florida. So is this a local problem we should try to solve in isolation or should the best and brightest work together to tackle the issue for the benefit of the global community?

I have always agreed with the philosophy that "making the world a better place begins in your own backyard." Positive change has always started at the local level. But somehow saying that "globalism and global thinking has led to the destruction of the family and local neighborhood" is myopic and self-defeating.

There are local problems and there are global problems. Both require human intelligence and cooperation to solve. But back to the topic of Tomorrowland and purple rocks. WDW's Tomorrowland used to inspire guests by sharing and promoting an optimistic vision of the future. Today's Tomorrowland, with a prisoner transfer station and intergalactic war as themes for attractions sadly reflects a much darker (or at the very least, socially irrelevant) future.

Disney has an opportunity to turn things around in Tomorrowland. But it will take much more than purple rocks to fix the problem.

Fair enough, but I think the point still stands. The 'themselves' part is well covered by nearly everyone. I will then amend it to say that people should start looking beyond themselves AND their families, and start contributing to their communities more. I personally agree on the globalization point. What makes the globe so great is the individual aspects each nation and community within brings to the table. Look no further than our own two countries. Very similar, yet oh so different and unique at the same time.

For the love of all things good- I hope that they get rid of all traces of the horrifically dated lavender and aqua color scheme that took over Tomorrowland in the early 90s! However, with news of rocks being painted purple, I'm not getting my hopes up! Same holds true for the color palette at the TTC...View attachment 153853
Would Silver and Metallic White and Blue's not seem futuristic?
