Wow. That 14 day park hopper must have been a great deal. i can't imagine buying a 14 day ticket and only visiting for 8 days. Disney must love you!

Don't be so sarcastic

Disney offers different ticket options to several foreign countries because of the situations specific to how those countries holiday and travel. The U.K. Gets ticket offers for 14 days plus lots of other perks (like free memory maker) for the cost Americans pay for a 4 day park hopper.

You don't know when to quit...
If I was being sarcastic, I wouldn't have responded to you. However, I was being genuine.

I am not from Europe, I don't know what deals are out there. I am also pretty sure that Disney is happy when guests buy tickets and don't use them, you don't think so?

When Disney sells a 21 day ticket to the U.K. (which they do)... they don't really expect guests to be in the park for 21 consecutive days. The point of these tickets are to offer "length of stay" style ticketing that encourages the guests to spend as much of their time at Disney and in the Disney hotels. They know people are going to see other things, but they want to be sure Disney is their base and Disney gets all the scraps too. It's why the price delta between a 7 day ticket and a 21 day ticket is only $32 dollars. Disney wants the 2 week U.K. Visitor to have a Disney vacation, not a fl vacation with a stop at wdw. And it works...

we got the 21 day ticket that included memory maker, it does seem like disney give very special deals to europe maybe too much of a special deal. it works out as $25 a day,
I dont know any theme park that costs only $25 but yeah ok not going to use the full 21 days at disney but its nice to beable to go anytime in that 21 days.

if your paying that much for a 4 day park ticket you would think disney would throw in a park hopper with that for free.

And they would if the purpose wasn't to spread the crowd to other parks. They don't want everyone ending up in MK every night. They want them in the other parks, supporting the other parks and keeping the massive crowds out of MK. It's really simple and only has a subliminal more money aspect to it. If they can keep MK crowds reasonable so that people are rubbing shoulders constantly and are comfortable, it will mean more repeat business. Business 101.

That's a great deal. So are these only available to guests who stay on site? Thanks for the information

I think this is the biggest problem with WDW: the overcrowding at MK. There isn't enough to keep people entertained at the other parks. I know that some people say DHS and AK are all day parks, but they need everyone to feel that way. I don't see that happening. Maybe Avatar will do it in AK, but I don't think so.

My reason is the crowds at DCA vs the crowds at DL. Carsland did improve attendance, but when I look at the crowd calendars for the actual numbers DCA is always a lot lower than DL. I think people are drawn to the theming of the MK and DL more than the other parks. When I think of visiting either WDW or DLR, I immediately picture those parks.

That's the part I find annoying. Here's an example: I went to DLR 2 weeks ago for one day. It was value season so my 1 day park hopper cost $155. I know that one day tickets are really expensive, but even a 5-7 day non-park hopper is super expensive in comparison the deals Europeans get. Why?

Uhh.. because you went for one day while Disney is trying to ensure Brits looking for warm weather make Disney their vacation destination.. with a 2+ week spend on the block for Disney to try to win

No, not exactly. Even if I had been able to go for 3 days a park hopper would cost over $300. It seems that foreign visitors get better deals than US citizens. I just don't understand this policy. Why not give US citizens the same deals?

For the 3rd time... 'because there is a 2+ week spend on the block' Disney is trying to loop in.

Do you vacation for 2-3 weeks at a time overseas with huge tax advantages incentivizing you to splurge while on vacation?

Why does Vegas comp gamblers travel and accomodations? Because they want the 'whales' working with them as their primary contact.

So a 2 week European vacationer is worth more to Disney than a 2 week US citizen? Why? Is there some type of advantage to Disney? If so, I don't see it.
