Bit of a thread necro, eh?

But can I just get this off my chest please?

TINKER BELL. WITH A SPACE IN BETWEEN.

Yikes sorry that is SUCH a pet peeve of mine! Why does no one know how to spell poor Miss Bell's name?

Has anyone ever considered that Mr. Kinkade is likely commissioned and told by Disney to paint in a certain way to guarantee sales from Disney geeks? Ie lots of cheeseyness and so forth.

His non Disney stuff is much better, minus the 50th Disneyland one IMO.

Maryssa, on an unrelated note, I assume your a Newsies fan based on your sig?

It reminds me a lot of the Tom duBois Disney paintings from about 15 years ago. They also feature lots of "hidden" characters and scenes. I bought a print of the Alice in Wonderland one from that series. I haven't been able to stand Kinkade's work for as long as I've been aware of it, but the right Disney piece might be able to sway me.

I like the painting and and he has paintings for all budgets. It is just a matter if you want one of the first copies of 10,000 off the production line or one of the last.

Question...are these Disney Kinkade paintings expected to increase in value as time goes by? Just honestly wondering, as I these are beautiful but also quite pricey. I'm not in the know regarding paintings, so I'm very curious.

Thanks.

I doubt it.

Kinkade has make a career of mass marketing himself and making copies of his work.

His work is not considered ground breaking or collectible for its technical merits either. It's kind of a like a Bob Ross painting. Nice to look at, lots of people like them, but not something you are going to invest in.

Some of his original creations might go up, but considering the fact that he prices them at lunar levels to begin with, there is not much room to go higher.
