New Studios parade to be named 'Pixar Pals Countdown To Fun!'

Pixar Play Parade at DCA is great fun.

Block Party Bash is like a Jumbotron presentation for commercial time outs at sporting events. Oh, and it sucks.

Couldn't they have just used something that'd be a bit more easier to remember like 'Pixar Pals Parade' instead of something that seems a bit longer and a bit rubbish.

That's a much better name! Good acronym too - "PPP" or we could call it 3P... so many possibilities! But now we're stuck with PPCTF!

If the parade is like the one at DL... it looks pretty good... just has a bad name!

Why are they not including WallE in this parade :(

Because there isn't one already made. I've heard that not all of the floats will be shipped over. All 3 of the main floats in Block Party would be reused. Does anyone know if the water element would be used here?

I hope we can finally put our feet back on the street...

I hated the Block Party Bash because you couldn't sit on the curb with your feet in the street, so unless you camped out on one of the 2 benches on main street for 90 minutes before the parade you had to sit on the flat hard sidewalk...very uncomfortable. (they actually REMOVED several nice benches after this BPB premiered:hammer:, when they should have ADDED more).
Then, you only really see one small part of the 'party' (you'd have to see it from many different locations to see it all).
And the 'parade' that you DO see (of the party sections that you missed) is a short parade.
Personally I liked the old single elaborately themed parades (Hercules, Toy Story, Mulan), but they didn't draw much since they only featured characters from a single movie...while the simple (cheap and dull) Stars and Motor Cars packed them in as a result of the multitude of characters it featured.
I expect this one to really pack them in since it features a combination of both, many themes, many characters, and from what I saw on the youtube, a lot of fun.

I LOVED WALL-E, I hope they include them...

We can still call it the PP Parade for short:eek:

They removed benches from Hollywood Blvd?

So are we getting the whole "Pixar Play Parade" or everything besides the Nemo unit? Because it sounds like a new "Up" unit will take it's place.

There was an "Up" pre-parade for the Pixar Play Parade at DCA in '09 when the movie was out. But it wasn't an elaborate float, and it really just sort of featured the two characters and the floating house. Not sure how they could turn this rather basic Up pre-parade float into a full-fledged float for the DHS version of the parade called "Countdown To Fun!"

The Pixar Pals' Countdown To Fun! sounds nearly identical to The Block Party Bash. This is similar to what happened to Spaceship Earth in 2007 when it was changed from Irons to Dench. It was the same ride with new narration.

The DCA parade is SOOOO much better than Block Party Bash IMO.

I hope they "up" the ante with the "UP" float because that pre-parade float looks so "cheap" compared to the rest of them.

Come on Dis...give Wall*E some love! Even if it's just a walk-around character and an Eve that's controlled by the walking entertainers.

No, we are getting the MUSIC from Pixar Play Parade.
Uh-oh..... Sounds like DHS is getting on board with MK's parade track record. :brick: :hurl: :fork:

It was actually a pretty elaborate float for a pre-parade... But that was at Disneyland, so this what we'll probably end up due to TDO's incredible cheapness. I doubt they will create a new Up float up to par with the other BPB floats.

I wish we were getting Pixar Play Parade... It's AMAZING!

and I wouldn't hope for much from this new Up and Ratatouille float...

So we are getting the same floats and some new floats? So the only thing we will get from DCA is the music?
It was my understanding the Up and Ratatouille floats from DCA. The Up float wasnt being used and the Ratatoulle one was only being used for Summer months - in addition I thought it was too tall to fit under the new catenaries in Hollywood once the new parade route opens.
