New Soarin Ride?

It doesn't mean they are any less creative. Just think of how many animatronic rides using Omnimovers Disney has. Think of all the CircleVision films, or Rollercoaster.

Employing the same ride system for a different experience doesn't mean anyone is less creative.

Nope its been cancelled, Disney cant afford the fuel surcharge to get it airbourne.

Its going to be a new bike simulator, Cycle Through Pakistan, its going to be thrill based and involve guests peddling, this not only has health benefits, but will through the use of dynamos produce the electricity required to power the ride.

Or so the Boat captains wife told me on her way to an afternoon encounter with a bus driver.

I would like this to be true. Mind you, with Google earth that big area of dirt and sand could have long gone...the image of my house is over 5 years old.

Not a surprise - the price of aerial photography can be prohibitive when you consider the square mileage of this country. And I should know, I work for an aerial imagery firm.

The resolution isn't good enough to see "little" things. :lookaroun You have nothing to fear.

True - but it continues to improve. :goodnevil We took some imagery of Main Street Greensburg a few days after the tornado went through that were amazing and devasting at the same time. We had to fly the plane at about 1800' AMT, but it gave us a 3-inch resolution.

But in truth, the government also controls, at least in satellite imagery, what type of resolution can be sold in the commercial industry and if I remember correctly, a great deal of googe's imagery is from satellite imagery companies.

You make a good point. I guess my point was, if it's the same basic theme (i.e. a glider) just soaring over a different location, then that isn't very creative. HOWEVER, if it is changed up a bit, for example, maybe you're in an airplane or maybe you're are the size of a dragonfly or something like that and you're flying over africa, then that would be neat and new and different, while still employing many features of the original "soarin'". Again, let me reiterate that I LOVE soarin'! I would ride it over and over! I'm not against doing something similar in AK, I just think it need to be mixed up a bit to make it "different", not a cookie cutter copy of the original.:animwink:

Personaly i think Animal Kingdom needs some more BIG major attractions, and Animal Kingdom is just the right spot for themed roller coasters that Disney makes. I soo wish they would make an Idiana Jones ride at Disney World that is like a roller coaster and not a show like the one at MGM, maybe Animal Kingdom would be perfect for the ride

Also Soarin' is great but i would absolutely hate to see another one be put in at Animal Kingdom, but if Soarin' ever upgraded i would love to see it in either 3D or a Florida film instead.

But what i also think would be cool is if they made a roller coaster at Animal Kingdom that is a flying one like Superman at Six Flags, something like that would be awesome to see in Disney World

But that's just my opinion on this all

Don't agree. I think AK is the one park of the 4 that doesn't need big attractions. That is all that is there already. AK needs many smaller attractions (I guess what you would call B or C ticket) to make it equivalent to the other parks in ride balance.

If I had to choose 1 awesome E-ticket, or 4 very good B or C tickets, I'd take the 4.

Pretty much agreed, though in my fantasy world I would like to see them add a few B or C tickets and a big E ticket.

As far as another Soarin, I really hope not. There already is a Soarin....we dont need to duplicate at the Animal Kingdom

For some reason, I don't see hang gliding as a big sport in the mountain-less state of FL. I'm sure there's enough thermals to catch with all the heat, but you need some altitude to get going!

AK does need something though. I vote for a park sized air conditioner!

Eh, in my opinion, Soarin' is a very overrated ride and I dont care for it. I would be a bit disappointed if something like this was added to AK. There's got to be something a litte bit more creative than just taking the same ride idea and changing the movie scenes.

I don't know if I agree with this. I have no problem with an attraction using a soarin' type ride system being added to each of the 4 parks. You don't have to call it Soarin' anything. To me it's the same as having a 4d film in each park, which they do.

Nope I'd like to see some more animal attractions, or even another land. I'd love to see Australia or a South America themed land.

Part of me is thinking that animals like Orangutans, Hyenas, and possibly even Pandas would be part of Night Kingdom. I know they want to have animals in Night Kingdom that aren't in the Animal Kingdom.
