New projection show at DHS "Disney Movie Magic"

Looks great and gives the crowd waiting for Star Wars something to enjoy. They REALLY seem to want to keep people at DHS at night, which at least shows they understand there's not enough to do throughout the day. I just wish they would stagger F! more or add a second showing, it's a shame guests have to choose.

My theory is that they're using this to test the use of a Marvel property (GotG) and see what UNI does.

Edit: notice they didn't market this? I think that has something to do with the contract.

Really impressive you got there for a good video with short notice!

I'll certainly go see it in person, until then, I'll hold off final judgment, but... gah... those trees!

Also, this is just another indication that DHS is going to be just about Disney IPs and not movies in general (or movie-making). Don't know how long RnRC can hold out from being overlaid...

Also... no love for Muppet Movies? Big mistake.

I'm surprised that this isn't the nightly "Nighttime Spectacular." A show about movies projected on a ride about movies in a park about movies? Seems almost too perfect. Like HEA, they could easily change out some of the segments as new Disney films get released (add Thor to the Marvel section in November, etc). This should really be the big show with all the pyro and effects. The projection-only "preshow" should instead be Star Wars or whatever the current "big promotion" is for Disney at the time. Do a POTC projection show for the summer, a Thor projection show for the fall, and a Last Jedi projection show in the winter, and do the big Movie Magic Nighttime Spectacular every night, year round.

Universal's contract does not include Guardians of the Galaxy, Disney is totally free to use the Guardians and Doctor Strange at any time any way they want. The Universal contract mainly deals with X-Men and the Avengers.

It a quick job to try and give a percived value to the parks admission given all the work going on. And to give guests something else to see - and another reason to stay into the evening - now we're hitting high season.

Somewhat ironic theming given the plans for the GMR.
