Just walking where by the resort lakeside and looking at Grand Destino Tower and Coronado Spring's off to the right. Every single thing from it's angle views from the bridge's to how it's become the entrance icon to Coronado Spring's is as if it was always there perfectly built buttered in with the resort. It's too perfect actually. 👌
Exactly, if they had done the same with the poly, build in in the parking lot, have a walk through lobby leading to a nice landscaped and covered path to the former car port and entrance to the great ceremonial house… would have blended quite nicely

Oh interesting, but then it be where many parking spaces are.

I really like this idea.

That would have been great except they could not charge extra for lake front accommodations... I think it would have been great if the pool was a copy of the original Polynesian resort pool from 1971...with the underwater music and all... Instead of a plain unadorned geometric shape...
The original pool with waterfalls and slide was nowhere near as grand as the current lava pool, but managed to look more impressive though it was a much smaller rockwork and slide. It would have been a great nod to the old Polynesian...

but I guess everyone now wants fiberglass cartoon characters and a shallower version of a Marriott pool.

Goodness, that original pool was sooooo great. Had class and character. And the added touch of music under water….two thumbs up. Hearing them pump in SpectroMagic while it performed at the Kingdom was pure magic.

Such a shame they couldn’t have something smaller like this at the new tower.

I've kept quite to see what it ended up looking like before I made comments and while I agree that it is no ugly in and of itself it also has no theming or character to match Poly. If you go out to the Kirkland Commons area of Scottsdale Az (suburb of Phoenix) you can find several buildings of this exact building style, being equally un-themed to the desert southwest, as part of the "multi-use" project that was built there a decade or so ago.

What’s rather interesting is that Reflections as presented previously had a lazy river. Presumably not bear bones either.

Meanwhile the table service at Poly appears to be built into a water feature. The company is quite inconsistent.

IIRC, the original plans for Riviera appeared to show a lazy river. It wasn’t included in any presentation or concept art. And I don’t recall seeing any plans since the permits were re-filed. I’m not going to hold my breath waiting for a lazy river.

the lazy river experience is pretty incredible at Discovery Cove, however I don't believe it will be that extensive if they include one at this hotel 🙃

The plans showed it as being longer than the one at Stormalong Bay. But yes, this isn’t going to be jaw-dropping, rather it would be a nice nod to River Country.

If you want a lazy river onsite you can always go to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach.

The way Riviera is showcased, advertised and displayed here is like it has a straight long Boardwalk walk experience. It even has boats set on the waters but that could be for nodding of it coastal European. I love too the buildings are more white which I thought they were when it first opened.
