I stand by my stance that the biggest issue is location. If they built this in the current parking lot “hugging” the GCH I could get more on board with the “there was always going to be a tower here look at this concept art from the 60s!” spin. It would all feel a bit more natural and feng shui. Where it is now it will always stick out even as the finished product doesn’t look terribly ugly. If I had better photo shop skills I’d try to put together what I’m picturing, but along the lines of how GDT follows the shoreline of the lake at Coronado helps it feel a bit more like it’s meant to be there.
