What a lovely backdrop for weddings. ☹️

I be fair, the picture does compress it a bit more than in person. But, there is no doubt it encroaches. The new tower is (or at least feels) closer than the GF DVC tower. And, it is much more open to the Wedding Pavilion. So, what used to feel like a bit of a separated retreat for your ceremony is now very much in the "middle of the action". And that's not a good thing in this case.

Not just the wedding pavilion- the view across the lagoon is really affected by this.

While I’m not a fan of the cheapened tower they built at the grand, at least at the end it looked like part of the resort.

It's kind of hilarious that the tower is up and this was announced like 4 months before the Hatbox Ghost was announced for HM.

There is planned decor elements that will go on the building...hopefully making it look more like the Polynesian resort, but the current renderings look more like a nice modern hotel than anything Polynesian....
So unless they halt construction, it should look better....

That poor wedding Pavilion

While I will agree that the view of the walk up to the wedding pavilion will change, the view once you are inside will not change from the current view of MK. You will forget that the other buildings even exist during a wedding ceremony and the pictures will still show the same awesome view that it currently shows.

I realise there will still be the same experience inside the pavilion.

However as the bride, groom and guests arrive they will now have a building site in view. Even when it’s finished the uniqueness of the setting will be over-shadowed by the new tower. It doesn’t have quite the same feel to me at least.

Also, I'm sure the wedding pavilion isn't soundproof. That eyesore will be filled with people, along with the pool and other outdoor areas.

The pool is in an enclave surrounded by Fiji, Tuvalu, Aotearoa, and the new tower that is as far from the pavilion as possible. Not that there aren't concerns, but I don't think that's one of them.

The tower is getting a pool too. Between the tower and lagoon.

I don't think the pool itself will be a concern but the concept art suggests they plan to have activities, seating, etc. outside the building along the lake, so there are other possible noise issues.
