News New Play Pavilion to replace Epcot's Wonders of Life

Disney simply wants to spend as little money as is possible to add capacity in any park.

...then it's hard to imagine they haven't at least considered using the WOL building for a dinosaur/paleontology pavilion considering the many fossil replicas they'll already have from Dinoland's closure.

But aside from that "quick fix" option, of course Inside Out seems most probable...

Inside Out taking over the Wonders of Life pavilion makes so much sense.

I get it everyone loves to hate IP, and especially IP in Epcot, but this is such a knock it out of the park idea based on the whole story/setting of this franchise. Also Inside Out 2 is coming and based on people from CinemaCon seeing the first 35 minutes, it sounds like a wonderful sequel.

Still think Wall-E should have a spot somewhere in Epcot. He could have been part of Awesome Planet.

I was trying to be polite. TWDC actually does NOT want to spend money on adding capacity. Adding capacity does NOT equate to MORE MONEY coming IN, only money going out, to the bean counters.

I wish they would look at their spending when making movies, but I digress.

I agree, as they MUST use IPs now adays, Inside Out would fit as, to me, it could be sort of a tribute to the WOL pavilion.

That's not a bad idea. I am actually a fan of Awesome Planet and see it every time I go, but I feel like in the future when they eventually change that show again, they might go back to an IP based show and I agree Wall-e would be wonderful there!

What intrigues me most about the idea of Inside Out going into Wonders is what they do with the dome. Realistically, they won't put Inside Out in anything other than the Cranium Command theatre. You can leave Body Wars and Frontiers and all that area empty, but there's no getting around needing to walk through the dome to get into Cranium. Inside Out is open ended enough to where you could do anything ranging from WoL again to a resurrection of the Play concept. Do I think either of these are likely? No, I don't, which is why I am very curious what gets done...

It may sometimes result in more money coming in by (1) increasing park GSRs and thus number of return visits, and (2) resulting in people spending more hours in the park and thus purchasing more food/drinks/merchandise.

I gave this a shot on my last trip and was pleasantly surprised. The film is fun and well produced, the sound is amazing and I was genuinely surprised by the in-theatre effects which I wasn't expecting. A great break for mid-day.

It's such a pleasant surprise! I remember being excited when I heard they were putting a new film in here (because I love things like this in the parks) and couldn't believe how much they actually did with it! The wind, lights, and scents are great.

Such a hidden gem!

It really is a good show. I wish Disney would promote it more in park because the theater is almost always empty when I go see Awesome Planet.

They have to stop the bluesky announcements that will never happen, but they won't.

The bluesky announcement is free, actually building something costs money.
It's a safe way to gauge interest if people would be interested in the idea and is a non-committal way of getting the parks in the news cycle for a bit. The first bluesky and it's reaction is why Moana moved to MK and Zootopia is heading elsewhere.

The main issue is that it looks like only Florida gets blueskies and the other parks get actual announcements...

If they know they are not going to do nothing in Florida they should simply not talk about Florida bluesky or otherwise.

At least its honest.

To gauge interest they can use surveys.

Call me cynical but I really don't expect anything for EPCOT at D23 aside from maybe a Test Track mention. DAK/MK/DL Forward will definitely dominate the parks panel this year.
I feel like there's gonna be an EPCOT... something. Test Track is a lock but I expect something else (SE/Imagination tease if the Dreamfinder inserted into JIYIWF rumors are true) or Inside Out teasing (to ride off the new film) to pop up.

Do you expect Inside Out to go into Wonders of Life? That is the only logical spot unless it finds a home over at the Magic Eye.
