I guarantee you will not notice the GotG building when you are there looking with your eyes and not seeing it through the lens of a camera. This shot is from last Nov. and we were amazed how the "go away blue" truly made it disappear in person. They photo doesn't do it justice. Also, the building is huge, but the shots you see from across world showcase have a lens in the mix. As you can see in the pic (that was taken with an iphone with little zoom) we are pretty close, almost to the entrance, and it isn't dominating.

That's an odd thing to "guarantee". It stuck out to me and some of my kids when driving past Epcot in late January, even more than SSE. I also notice the Soarin' building.

We are at 1,000 replies here. What is so brilliant here? Disney is half-heartedly giving us back some retro flags, trees, flowers and maybe prisms.

I'm excited about this as well but what is it really worth beyond that? No! Literally beyond the entry point.

EPCOT Center was my favorite park. I don't even know what it is at this point.

People have been waiting 20 years for this.

There are much longer threads for much less exciting things.

Thank you MickeyMario. That's the much longer line for jumping off bridges argument.

More has been said about less. Great and thanks!

You didn't answer what is better here just kinda sidestepped mediocrity.

I've been waiting 20 years as well for EPCOT to not be visionless.

I don't know if half-measures avail us everything tho?

The legacy stones looked like a memorial for families who died on vacation at WDW. Only second worse thing every to Mickey Hand on Spaceship Earth.
I dunno... this was pretty hideous.

I forgot to preface it: the “2000” worked during 2000

The “Epcot” was stupid

Yeah, innocently, it seemed cool enough when it was only going to be there for 18(ish) months.

I know I'm going to catch hell for this but I wasn't personally offended by the pink birthday cake castle back in the day, either - because it was temporary. I understand that for people on once-in-a-lifetime trips, it was either super cool or super awful, though.

Sort of viewed the wand the same way at first... and then it didn't go. :/

I remember when they were building the hat - they were doing work behind walls on it and you could see a giant metal ring that it seems like they were putting rivets in, forever. This was there so long like that they actually had an illustration of the ring on the park maps as an identifiable structure.

With how it was built, I was expecting it to be or do or have something epic... and then it ended up just being the roof of an outdoor pin shop... that never went away.

It was odd, I actually wasn't even looking for it. It really just caught my eye through the trees and coming around on the north side, it actually surprised me.

The last time I drove to Epcot (about a month and a half ago) they parked us in the far left parking lot - that one that often has tents for various events and prep-work in it and the tram drove us right by this new structure. It felt like we were passing in front of the Vehicle Assembly Building at Cape Canaveral.

Within Future World, it didn't seem like much of an issue but from a few different places in World Showcase, it was obvious on the other side of the pond next to Spaceship Earth.

And as was originally mentioned about cameras and lenses, a lot of people will be going home with pictures of Spaceship Earth from Japan with a giant blue buidling next to it from here on out. :/

Actually...It was pretty epic...and it was temporary. For a temporary decor package for the 25th, it was a big wow...like it or not. It was fun and festive... Now that we are at WDW's Golden Anniversary it will be interesting to see what they doi... I am sure it will not be anything like the celebration decor they have done in the past... TDO doesn't seem to have money for this kind of stuff anymore. Disneyland got tons of plussing for their 50th... Have they even mentioned anything happening for the Magic Kingdom yet aside from Tron?
