I think you hit many nails right where they needed to be hit.

Let’s just say I’m a consultant IRL and paid to hit nails that way, but d*mn, it looks harsh when it’s typed out. I also feel bad criticizing something when the performers are clearly giving 100%, but they did that for Light Tragic too.

I’m a happy person, folks. Honest.

Of course it’s all IMHO, and I’m not going to argue with anyone who disagrees.

With a better understanding and love for classic Disney—and a bigger budget! Comparing Magic Happens to Dreaming Up is like comparing Pixar Pier to Disneysea.

Agreed. VERY repetitive and annoying, but catchy at the same time.

Here is an idea.
Maybe we should have different threads for positive and negative remarks?
I know everybody is free to put there opinion but about 95% on every change, new thing or expansion is negative.
Think it would be nice if you had the choice to enter the positive or negative comments seperately before you start reading?

UGH - I wanted to love this...… I like the floats, the onstage characters, the inclusion of Merlin and Arthur - and the dancers look great - BUT - this parade feels disjointed and confusing to me. The song is all over the place with no real driving "theme." UGH I just hate this.....

I think this is the one thing that keeps me from absolutely loving this. The finale song should have been the main theme honestly. It feels like a classic Disney song format while being just as modern and contemporary as the other theme.

It's one note auto tuned millennial pop. It's not good music.

Stars and Flights of Fantasy are pretty equal in my eyes. Mostly underwhelming with two or three saving graces that keep it from the dregs of Storybook Express

I don't really understand the hype over Dreamlights to be honest. It's just a kind-of-better MSEP.

SpectroMagic is the greatest Disney parade of all time as far as I'm concerned.

I agree but I think that Dreamlights has the combination of nostalgia factor plus being updated every few years.

I'm going to need to hear it in person next month, but it just doesn't seem very memorable. I'm just surprised after all the hype they put into Todrick Hall composing all this music for them, that what we got seems so generic. But maybe it sounds better in person? Maybe they just need to re-arrange it a bit and end the parade on a more upbeat note?

Todrick's music is pretty generic. He seems to be known more for his visuals.

Can someone point me to a video without the yelling? I tried to watch a video on twitter, but the WOOOOOOOOOOs ruined it for me.

It is OK and even healthy to read opinions that differ from your own.

I agree but it is hard to find positive posts about anything...
I think some things in general (not only about this parade) are less than expected, especially compared to the original designs but at least things are happening and being renewed.

I watched it on YOUTUBE.

My opinions ......I will say the song is not as bad as everyone seems to imply....BUT its not that catchy or memorable. I don't think you'd leave Main Street humming it. The parade seems nice. Something I look forward to seeing in person once. But its not overly repeatable for me. I loved Paint the Night, the energy, the song, etc. And I wanted to see it again and again. This new parade gets "its nice, I will see it once" response.

It is NOT a flop at all. And some of the floral elements give it a fun Rose Parade vibe (obviously faux greenery). Auroras blue to pink dress is night. The CoCo and Moana floats are visually quite well designed.

That wouldn’t be a discussion. Take everything with a grain of salt, post your own thoughts, and remember that even negative comments here come from people who truly love Disney at its best—Or at least what Disney *used* to be. And keep pointing out the positives if you think there’s too much negativity; we all can use different perspectives.
