November 18th -- too little too late for us -- we'll BE there 11/14-11/21 and there is still no way we'll be able to see it, thanks to the dinner ADRs we made months ago and the daily 7pm AK closings. We even left room on our schedule the evening of our AK day (11/15) in hopes that ROL would have debuted, but if it doesn't start until 11/18, that time slot we saved will be of no use. What a bummer to be so close -- literally there at WDW -- and still have to miss it! I'll keep my fingers crossed for a soft opening on 11/15 but I'll remain pessimistic (so as not to be disappointed). I do hope that PizzeRizzo opens on or before 11/18 -- we're planning to spend 11/19 at HS, so I can put "bury sorrows about tardy ROL by overindulging in crappy pizza in a charming and wacky setting" on my touring plan for that day.

The same thing happened to us when we visited a year-and-a-half ago, and missed the opening of 7DMT by a few days. Apparently I'm just terrible at picking dates to visit!!!

Don't worry yet. Previews are bound to happen.

If it really starts Nov 18, then, all those blogs which reported the leaked and yanked Disney web page which said May, and thus, concluded that RoL won't open until May....

They all couldn't be wrong? Could they?

Yes, it may work out for us to get lucky. BUT it will be a mad dash to reserve FP's for they show. Whatever happens, we will enjoy one evening at DAK followed by a morning rope drop day to take in everything. I'm sure @wdwmagic will do his best to give us a heads up on what could be the timeline for opening. The first of December can't come fast enough.

It makes sense to open it on or around the 18th. The 18th is Mickey's birthday (which they are using as a promotion this year) and right after that comes the D23 event. Oh, and according to a few things I've read, there is a media event of sorts from the 15th to 17th, or sometime around then. Will find the exact dates.

The point is, there will be a lot of people in town, particularly the kind who promote Disney's new offerings. So it's a good time to premiere RoL, because they'll get to show it to all of these people right away.

As for an announcement about the premiere, there is a quarterly earnings report on the 10th. So I'm sure we'll hear something on an opening before then, because Bob may want to use that as an answer to a question along the lines of "What's going to drive park attendance this year?"

I'm no "insider" of any sort and don't attempt to be, I'm just adding up the signals.

Though I don't believe that this is good for @prfctlyximprct , unfortunately.

I had a similar thought about Sanaa but hedged my bets with Tiffins in AK. Since likely no ROL (I arrive WDW Saturday), wondering if I should switch back.
