If I am not mistaken Joe has said he will fix it. I think he just can't get approval of money for it and/or downtime of the attraction.

I would think Disney would want all of their major attractions open when Avatarland opens up to deal with the increase in crowds.

Ohh okay.. how about this.. a tweety bird says THE big wig was on site recently and gave the ROL team a very short deadline to get the show live. Enjoy.

That being said, I have also ridden it both ways. There's not a huge difference to me either.

Want to improve the ride - quickly and inexpensively, with no downtime? Clean up and remove those disgusting hairbands. Seriously gross!

A friend of mine saw the show, said it was shorter than illuminations and that we should see soft opens within the next 10-14 days. No details of the show though.

Yep. Illuminations is roughly 15 minutes give or take a minute or two and depending if there is a tag or not. So this won't be an incredibly long show it sounds like.
