Agree completely. I'm saying it doesn't open at all this summer (likely fall), making next summer its first. Not intentional, but at this point, might as well get what they can out of the temporary show while the movie is hot.
Gotcha, I just didn't want there to be any confusion since I got into a full blown argument the other day with CMs who had inside info that it wasn't opening till April of 2017. And I was like that is soooo wrong

ROL is opening this year.

Sure. Fine. But the question is more of how it will open rather that if.

Will we get Rivers of Light, or Rivers of Lite? Or Rivers of Light with Jungle Book pieces in it? Who knows?

I feel like Disney won't give us an update on Rivers of Light, just yet. I feel like their "update" was announcing this Jungle Book show.

Correct! You caught on much faster than many of the more veteran members!

Do you know what met the ax? I think it's a rather impressive show (then again, I've only seen video) but wonder what it could have been.

@marni1971 Can you please write a Disney Parks: What Could Have Been coffee table book for the rest of the class? :)

The show was supposed to open and close with a small orange fountain named Little Squirt, a fountain that was meant to embody the artistic and michevious spirit of Walt. Also, the soundtrack was reworked to be more contemporary. And some of the scenes were changed.

You are likely about to thank me for my abundant inside knowledge, but please don't. I only got this from wikpedia.

You got me curious, decided to look at that other mice site, and it sorta looked like ot worked? or was too heavy and required too much water pressure?

I think it just never looked the way they hoped.. so it was never used. It sat there underwater for a long while, until it was finally removed.

Structure of the show was also switched around. After the opening, first act was the Spring Sprite/Pocahontas "Earth" act that transitioned into Alice in Wonderland and then the "Sea and Sky" acts. Hercules, a longer villain sequence opening with Dr Facilier, a paper animated Chernabog for Night on Bald Mountain that used a telescoping tower structure as a base that never worked properly. Soundtrack for this early version is leaked on YouTube.

You can't truly say they it's impossible it opens in April 2017 though. Now the CMs on the other hand also wouldn't know, but the point is, no one knows when this thing will open by.

I love going back to that video every once in a while. The orchestra sounds much better in this version.

Has anyone heard anything in regards to the large lotus? I'm imagining it's pretty massive... And probably/hopefully full of awesomeness! :)
From what i heard, it kinda sunk. (its a false rumor)

On the other hand, haven't seen any information about it. It might be the reason they are having technical trouble with the show.

So do we know if ROL being pushed back was solely issues with the floats or was it also a reworking of the show?

The people in the know believe it is regarding issues with the floats navigation, rumor mongers say it is due to Iger not liking the show and wanting it reworked.

Personally I don't think the show reworking would cause it to be delayed to the extent that they would have to put together a new, far inferior show in a few weeks. However whether or not reworking is done due to the time it takes to fix the floats is a separate train of thought which I hope does not happen.

@MansionButler84 you were one who said RoL may open July 4th.. Do you still think that could happen? Or are you hearing the Fall now like many others seem to believe?

Could we possibly see RoL B mode (Media Preview) in July? Especially if JBAWM continues to get bad reviews?

The target date to my knowledge is still July 4th. If that changes I'll post it but they are trying to get this out sooner rather than later with 3rd shift still testing. To me september just sounds ludicrous as a date with that kind of round the clock testing and fixing going on.

Based on the reviews for the current show the sooner the better
