Unless I looked at the photos wrong, it looks like the light globes are placed on static poles.....meaning that we'll have to see these things during the day....:(

however, it looks like the globes on the Everest side could be retractable?

I think they're all on the same type of poles from what i can see - retractable poles. I can't imagine Disney NOT having retractable poles here :p

I love lighting and it makes me excited to see they are adding even more :), however, I do have to say those globes are a eyesore :-/. Hopefully most are retractable or will be hidden in some way but I doubt it.

Actually, I do think the lights on the Everest side are on retractable poles. Notice how each rig is directly over a structure of some kind? Guarantee they retract into them so that they are out of sight during the day.

But the lights on the Dinoland side are definitely static. can't believe they are making the same mistake again. And that blue/green color is just awful. Bad enough the lights are numerous and don't retract, but even worse they they went and painted them such a loud color.

There's an easy way to hide the ones on the Dinoland side.... just build a small, themed wall behind the globes and all sight of them is lost.

I wonder if they are going to 'age' the poles to match the bridge colouring there. The sheer fact that they made both side look so wildly different from one another gives me some reassurance that this is at least thought out.

At least the Everest side definitely works, so that's the bigger of the two worries dealt with.

I'm not looking forward to the challenge of getting FPs for this thing. Once Disney does announce the opening date I wonder when FPs will be available on MDE?

With (what seems like) limited seating, it would be nice if they did what they do with World of Color and just have paper tickets that you get the day of. They don't give you any special seating area, but just make sure you have a space in general at one of the multiple showings. Otherwise, it seems like viewing from elsewhere in the park will be almost non-existent and it would seem like there may be a lot of one-day guests really upset if they couldn't get in at all.

Received a vague text today.

"7 weeks."

Either my demise or...?
Was it from a ROL friend??? If not, 7 weeks could be anything: Symphony ending, Easter, FOF being twice a day for the weeks of Easter...

Back to ROL if today is 7.. that would put it on Good Friday or during that Holy Week since WDW likes to extend hours of MK & DHS for the week before Easter.
The next Calendar Update will be telling. AK may not be promoting ROL over Easter, but they can't be closing at 5 if they are soft opening ROL!

Much like how the light globes change colors to denote the World of Color viewing areas, I fear that they will use the colored light poles in DAK to mark the areas. Guests will either be assigned to the brown section (by Everest) or the green section (by Nemo), which will make it easy for them to find their respective viewing area. Given the difficulties they'll have with crowd flow before and after the shows (at the far end of a narrow loop with no alternate routes), it seems like they're trying to idiot-proof it as much as possible

I really hope I'm wrong, but it sure seems to follow the type of logic that Disney has used before.
