Fun blast from the past...from this website's own news section:

Malcolm Ross, vice president of the Disney-MGM Studios, says a transportation master plan now being put to paper will reduce the park's reliance on buses, but he stopped short of confirming unofficial reports that the company plans to invest between $800 million to $1billion in expanding the monorail. "We're looking at expanding the monorail, but we also have four or five other systems we're looking at," says Ross. Whichever is chosen, though, says Ross, "We'll have to get there soon."

Soon, eh? This was posted December 5th 1998. 😅

Only took 'em two decades to open the Skyliner.

Likely in preparation for new rolling stock or they're refurbishing the beam.
More likely the standard refurb they do every few years. They've re-topped the concrete a few times on some sections so could be that (Epcot's beam has always been a more rough ride due to the cheaper construction of the beams).

Could also just be maintenance on the power bars, wiring, etc.

Wouldn't read too much into it tbh, its almost certainly just routine maintenance.

Well, in their defense, 9/11 really, really put the company in a scary place. Considering they left 1/2 of POP unfinished for as long as they did should give you a hint about the economics.

But, they need to invest some money in these to get them running safely.

I'm #teamwrongclipart

WDW is definitely getting a new monorail.

Eventually.

With a new Space Mountain track.

And a new Yeti.

And a replacement for SGE.
Agree. This is the first year he has lived in Florida, so while this may be his first time seeing the sign is not the first time this sign has been used. It's been used in previous marathons.

It is a poorly chosen clip art and nothing more. Nothing to see here

To be fair, in the video he noted it's probably bad clipart and even delved into that Bombardier client rumor and thinks it's not Disney. Bayden might be energetic, but he seems to try to be factual and not spread complete BS.
