New Monorail Resort Dining Experience Announced

Nothing whet's my appetite for the next stop on a food crawl more than the rank urine smell of the typical monorail cabin.

Sign me up!

At least this time of year the smell should be reduced as the AC (when it works) does not run so hard.

I know this is another add on but this really isn't that bad. $150 including gratuity for meals at three restaurants on the monorail isn't that bad. I am not going to do it but its not the worst thing they have come up with.

No real mention of where at Poly the guests will be escorted.
Trader Sam's or Tambu Lounge maybe?
Probably the Kona Cafe.

This really isn't all that surprising I suppose. I'm curious to see how guests staying at GF react to this though. At that time, trains can already be pretty crowded when they reach that stop with the evening rush of monorail resort guests heading to MK. If I was paying a premium to stay club level at that resort, for example, and had to wait to board already overcrowded trains to get back to MK for the evening because other guests had priority boarding, I might be a little irritated.

What is the time scale for this romantic evening? It starts 3:15 before Wishes. That seems kind of rushed to me for appetizers at two places, dinner at Citricos, dessert at Contemp, and three monorail rides. Better be a fast eater or they will physically pull the imitation crab out of your mouth before shoving you into a monorail car with broken a/c. Realistically, half hour for apps 4:45-5:15. Half hour to get to Poly at 5:45. Half hour for apps in the Poly restroom 5:45-6:15. Half hour to get to Citricos at 6:45. 45 minutes to eat a thawed TV dinner (no way there is time for you to sit down, order, and the food get prepped fresh) before they cattle prod you back to Contemp at break-neck speed so you can eat one Olaf cupcake before Wishes.

At least FL never has thunderstorms that shut down the monorail, though. Imagine if they tried to set this up in hot, humid, swampy California with its daily thunderstorms in the late afternoon 6 months of the year. Oh wait.

Will they have melted cannoli on-hand in the monorail just in case it's forced to stop on the monorail beam so you get a premium view of Wishes from behind the Villas at the Grand Floridian? Hopefully your chauffeur can at least pipe in the music from YouTube. Best case scenario: he shows you one of Martin's tribute videos.

Next year, we get the Bus on the Road Dine Around, with stops at each of the value resorts culminating with an unforgettable view of IllumiNations from the 4th floor of the '70s building at Pop Century.

If I was staying at the GF and saw people eating fancy cheese and having drinks in the lobby I'd be more than unhappy because if they want to do it, do it out of my sight. If you are doing it in the LOBBY of all places, expect me to come grab some cheese lol.

Think for yourselfer
Curious to hear about the logistics of this. As @MansionButler84 points out, the time frame seems pretty closed off. If you eat faster then your neighbor, do you then wait for them to finish? Or vicey versy? You all board the monorail together and have a private guide to each restaurant? I think it would probably be MUCH easier to do this on your own.
