Everybody saw that one coming. He also reminded people that it won't be WDW because of Universal's rights.

Exactly. Really excited to see what they have cooked up for DLR and the other resorts around the world though. Avengers opened HUGE in Hong Kong. Wonder if they'll get anything.

Thanks for introducing reason and logic in the second post before this thread got too far out of hand.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

This coincides with rumours WDS at Paris is getting an avengers land. It would mean a retheme of RnRC apparently though, so I don't know...

i wouldn't expect anything in Orlando anytime soon..... because of the proximity to Univeral and the current Marvel attractions there.. I would expect there would have been some contractual limitations that would make that either very expensive or impossible.. if there isn't I would be suprised. Can anyone confirm this? and can anyone confirm when the contract with universal ends?

i think a Marvel world would be great for Disney's Adventure Park in Anaheim!!!

Yes, Universal has an exclusivity agreement with Marvel/Disney. It has no end date and covers pretty much all the major Marvel characters.

It must make you guys feel really good to tear somebody down for trying to share news with you that some already knew, huh? . Guess what? Not everybody did, and I appreciate the post.

So much ridiculous negativity on here the past few years. No wonder I've been a member for eleven years and hardly post anymore.

Should be no surprise to anyone since Iger already mentioned this at the shareholders meeting back in March.

Where do you see someone tearing the op down? Maybe I am getting a thick skin, but I don't see anything harsh in any othese posts, I just see some comments that this is already being discussed in other threads.

I don't know why i even bothered. This board is not for me anymore. Every one wants to trash anyone.

It was fun while it lasted...

It's not trashing. It's the fact that the subject has been beaten to death on these and other boards in the three years since Disney bought Marvel. We know what the deal is in Florida...why make another thread about it?

A few thoughts:
  • I would expect this overseas before I would expect it stateside
  • This is a no brainer
  • Due to the existing contract between Marvel and Universal, none of these characters are eligible for use in Florida
  • I wouldn't be surprised to see this in Disneyland instead of DCA
  • Evidently, Universal is somewhat prepared for Spiderman to be converted to Transformers with the upgraded projectors, and water and fire elements on the Hollywood version of Transformers being in similar spots in the attraction as the Florida/Spiderman version. To me this means that Universal has a price.
  • I'm curious if Disney could negotiate for just The Avengers characters. This would require a re-theme of The Hulk and some signage changes but beyond that should be easier than acquiring everything.

Why not? So its talked about in other forums, boards, whatever- so.
Its not like you have to read EVERY thread that comes up. If you see 2, 3, 4, or 4 million threads about the same thing, then just stick with the one you like. Why get upset about something like that?
