New light post in Frontierland

Sorry if this has been discussed somewhere else (and I know it's a relatively small update), but does anyone know if they're planning on leaving this new light post across from the new Frontierland meet-and-greet as-is?

I sure hope it's temporary. They could have at least made an effort to make the light more rustic looking, and the new curb they put in incongruous with the rest of Frontierland. I would hope the Show Quality Standards people have it fixed like they did when a contractor made Disneyland's Frontierland waterway look like a swimming pool.

That is too ugly. It contrasts with the area and with the much more appropriate light posts seen in the background of the picture.

Yes they could have themed this a little better. Actually I would like to see the MK get nicely themed lighting towers all along the parade route like DL and DCA has. True that the MK already has regular light towers, like this new one, but I am talking about colored lights that interact with the parades. This would also add to the special event parades as well! Maybe you could actually see the characters instead of the parade route being so dark.

Wow that is just awful! It looks like the parking lot of Fort Wilderness. Whats with the giant ugly curb and wal-mart parking lot light post? PLEASE have this fixed!

it looks temprary to me, maybe to to test some new LEDs for the area at night... I would assume it would eventually be repalced with a better one or removed all together depending how it goes.

This is one extremely half-a$$ed area.

Box curbs. Unthemed light pole. And red concrete pigment all over the side of the curbs. Terrible craftsmanship, no quality control, and a literal pimple on Frontierland.

Tis a shame.

Hopefully the light pole is some kind of test and will be replaced, but, yeah, overall this meet-and-greet is pretty shoddy.

The actual themed elements of the backdrop and the railings are fine. Everything else seems completely lacking in the craftmanship and attention to detail that is supposed to differentiate Disney theme parks from the competition. Though I know it's a tired refrain, look at the newer walkways and curbs that have been added during routine refurbs in Disneyland and it's like night and day.

I cut Disney, and WDW in specific quite a bit of slack. I don't nit pick on every little thing, but that is just hideous. If I wanted to see crap like that I would go to Hershey Park.

Really WDW. It is because you DON'T have things like that, that I pay the bucks to fly down there multiple times per year and drop coin in your parks. I really hope that is being changed quickly.

The really sad thing is this thread got my attention because I think that parts of Frontierland are too dark, in some areas of the storefront boardwalk. I thought they had addressed this issue. Nope, instead they planted a mall parking lot light in the middle of a planter.

well the placement looks to be focused on the meet and greet and the immediate area... main street doesn't really have an area they can do that with... other than santa but he's currently in a different spot anyway. I guess we need to see if it's lit up during party nights when donald is meeting there :shrug:

But when will they tear out the curbs and make them match the surrounding area, or at least wash the red paint splashes off of the curbs that are there.

They're testing a light post? Who would they do that? :confused: :shrug:
