New light post in Frontierland

But when will they tear out the curbs and make them match the surrounding area, or at least wash the red paint splashes off of the curbs that are there.

Compare the pic's on page one. The first pic is obviously the more recent, covering the red paint and stain color up with a fresh coat of gray paint.

I like the idea of a curb, giving a clean break between the walkway and the landscaping. I think where they missed the boat was installing concrete curbing instead of the rock and/or stone curbing used at other areas of Frontierland.

Ah yes, I see it now. My bad.

I agree on a stone barrier instead of commercial curbs. They just don't belong there.

I don't know, this really harkens me back to those historic days, when the settlers were driving west, killing buffalo, crossing mountains in covered wagons, and building Walmart parking lots...

Those gray curbs are exactly the same as the curbs used throughout liberty square which is where this is located (notice the trash can.)

The lights appear to be four fixtures, probably made by the same manufacturer. The two on top appear to be slightly different than the two on the bottom. By their size they appear to be LED as opposed to incandescent as they would need to be deeper to incorporate the reflector and lens.

Since I only see one cord going to each fixture, I would assume that they would be incapable of changing colors as that would necessitate the need for a control cable.

However, since the mounting bar IS quite thick, it is possible that it contains the power supply and color changing electronics and the single cable I see is low voltage AND control.

Actually, look again. You can see two separate cables running to each fixture, presumably the thicker power cord and the thinner control cable.
(More noticeable on the right-hand fixtures, but once you know what you're looking for, you can also see it on the lower-left one)

I really love that there are 3 pages of replies about a light post.

I'm not being sarcastic either.

I do REALLY love that there are people out there that are as nerdy as me about Disney World

That's what I thought, but if you look where the big cord plugs in on the lower left one, you can see two ports.

It's one cord that splits right at the end and goes into two little outlets

I can see two cords as well... No idea what the means however haha. I still say this thing is probably for the Holidays parties just like lighting fixtures on top of the Main Street buildings are only for the parties, unfortunately, as those are cool :)

I think THAT's a tree limb in the background. Once again...we need more pictures to thoroughly analyze!

What it means is the difference between active controllable color changeable lighting and passive static white lighting.
