don't suppose you know if there is going to be a CM preview at all? I hope so but I have booked the day off work all the same! :sohappy:
I do believe that I remember hearing that there won't be any CM or AP previews at all. The ride is just supposed to open, without any special previews. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

The Pirates of the Caribbean : Dead Man's Chest film premiere will be at Disneyland on June 24. There will be a red carpet event with Johnny, Kiera, and Orlando. I'm sure they will let everyone ride POTC then.

Yes, the movie premiere of Dead Man's Chest, in which KEIRA, Johnny, and Orlando will attend, along with the rest of the cast, will be at Disneyland on June 24. But even though the movie is premiering there on that day, I still think that the rides in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World are set to open on July 7, the day the movie comes out in theaters. I'm not sure if they're going to let anybody, including CMs and APs, go on the ride until then. If anybody has any more information that would be great.

I could have sworn that the Disneyland version was opening right after the movie premire on the 25th. I'm going to be there on the 28th. It's the first time I will be in Disneyland.

Dead Men Tell No Tales was actually once a response. Originally at Disneyland, the skeleton grottos had the ghosts of the pirates narrating scenes but they would be interupted with "Dead Men Tell No Tales". The Imagineers later decided that the visuals spoke for themselves and removed most of the dialogue save for the stuff about the cursed treasure. If you want to hear for yourself, Visions Fantastic has a full audio track of Pirates with the removed narration.

regardless of whether it was originally a response or not I think that line in particular is something that should stand alone, unaltered.

Does anyone know if the talking jolly roger is still in the attraction? The Davy Jones effect seems to be doing the same thing. Does anyone know? I hope they have both.

Hi there. I'm not really a member of this board but had a question involving wdw's pirates so I figured this was the best place to ask =D

I'm going to wdw at the end of this month/very beginning of July, however I will be leaving a few days prior to July 7th.. I was wondering if anyone knew if July 7th's opening for this POTC makeover was set in stone... (yeah, i'm used to disneyland where whenever they something like that it always opens a few days...weeks....months*coughbuzzlightyear* early). I've only been to wdw once before in '99 and I'd hate to miss the ride by a couple of days and not be back for a long time again.

I know the studios have been hardlined about not opening the ride before the movie comes out. But since Disneyland is opening 2 weeks before then, I couldn't help wonder if maybe they'd soft open it anyways especially considering July 4th attendance.

Thanks for any replies =D

No new boats - they were stored at the STOLport for a complete refurb. 1/3 of them are back in the attraction now.

What is STOLport

Anyways, stinks that my Seasonal Pass blocks me until August 18th

Hopefully like the past few years, they will roll it back a few weeks and let us enter end of July/beginning August.

Briefly, the STOLPort was a Short TakeOff and Landing airstrip built with WDW Phase One, just east of the MK autoplaza. It was never properly used, and became a bus driver training area. It`s just a long wide concrete road to nowhere.

So I guess the Wicked Wench hasn't been changed to the Black Pearl. Great info though, how did you get it?

Jerry Bruckheimer didn't give Disney the extended rights for the use of the Black Pearl, otherwise we would have seen it, but all the same, this could be a hint at what will happen in the second movie-Could we see Barbossa alive and captaining the Wicked Wench on a quest to find the Dead Man's Chest because before he was shot by Jack in the first movie, he made a deal with Davy Jones for his life in exchange for his soul. So, that would mean that two people are after the Dead Man's Chest and both are going to appear in the new attraction.

But all of which I just said is nonsense...;) :animwink: ;)

Sorry to say, it isn't gunna happen this time. This attraction is so anticipated that they aren't even letting CM's try the new ride until the day before. Those CM's lucky enough to be there that day will be checked by security guards and given pat-downs to make sure that they don't have any cameras and camcorders. Disney is keeping this new attraction under wraps and they are very tight lipped about this one. You won't get to ride it early. If you are able to stay three extra days (which I know is very hard) then you can ride it in time but otherwise, you can't.

I myself am going to miss the grand re-opening because I will be in Canada testing out La Ronde's new version of Goliath (the Out-and-Back Hyper Coaster made for extreme doses of airtime). I will be back on July 11th and I think I will hit Magic Kingdom on the 12th to do a photo update and a new article for my site. This month and next month are filled with attraction openings. On Sunday, I am going to the Passholder Preview of the new "High in the Sky Suess Trolley Train" at Universal's Islands of Adventure. I will being going to La Ronde and I will be going to the opening of the Laugh Floor Comedy Club. I can't wait! :D

i was reading something on the internet about what "dead mans chest" will have with regards to the character and castlist ,and amoung them was barbossa.
maybe your right, maybe he does make a deal with davy jones so the he can bring jack to him.
with regards to the wicked wench being one of the ships in the new film it could be a possibility.
on this same website it said something about there being 2 new extra ships being built and one of them being davy jones ship, the other could be the wicked wench.
we shall know soon enough. 7th of july

Is that info WDW specific? It's pretty much verbatim the rumor for Disneyland CM previews, where the studios are being sticky about showing the ride to anyone before the movie comes out, but by wdw's opening date the movie's already been out a week and a half.

Avast there ma-ties, there be spoilers ahead...

* More than 220 audio speakers have been replaced throughout the attraction.

* Three bass subwoofers have been installed within the "Battle Scene" between the pirate galleon and the Spanish fortress to provide a sense of concussion during the firing of the cannons.

* The cannon firing and cannon ball effects in the water have all been upgraded to heighten the sense of intensity and drama in the "Battle Scene." Underscoring from the films has also been added to the scene.

Those three are the ones that make me the most excited...I can't wait to experience the changes. Thanks for the info.
