Hi everyone!

My name is Teresa and I am new to this site, but not to Disney! I have been traveling to WDW since I was two and just can't get enough of it. I have been married for a year as of Memorial Day. We got married last May 31 and of course we were Disneymooners! It was the best honeymoon and I highly reccommend it! My husband proposed to me in WDW back in January 2002 in Cinderella's castle. It was great. Just recently I became a Disney Specialist, which has been fun so far. So if anyone has any questions I should be able to answer them for you!!!
I love helping people with all things Disney! It is my second love after my husband and family. Well that is all I guess! I look forward to chatting with all of you!

Welcome aboard Teresa, and thanks for that extra dose of sunshine with that introduction. Most folks enter more like a first time at AA.

My question is what is a Disney Specialist?

A Disney Specialist is a travel agent that specializes in Disney travel. I have completed the College of Disney Knowledge and therefore am considered a Disney Specialist in the eyes of the Disney Travel Company. I am in no way affiliated with Disney though, just some special Disney training and knowledge. It was fun and being that I am a Disney fanatic and knew a lot about it already it was relatively easy! Hope to talk with you some more!

Welcome Theresa! I am also new to the boards but I have found such good information and advise here. Congratulations on your engagement at WDW and your marriage! Did you wear the Wedding Ears during your honeymoon?

No we did not wear the ears....my husband was being a stinker and wouldn't do it. Now we are trying to figure out when to go back down just the two of us and he said he would wear them! I told him it would not be the same, but it is better than nothing!! LOL

Well General Grizz...seeing is though you have over 8200 posts under your belt I feel that there is nothing that I could tell you that you would not know!!!

Anyway if there is any questions that you don't know the answer to and I do know I will let you know, but you sound like a Disney Specialist to me....CDK or no CDK!!! :animwink:

Hi Teresa, and welcome to the happiest forum on earth. I wish I had thought to intro myself. I just starting butting in and hoped I didn't offend anyone. Actually, this is the first discussion board that I've ever posted anything on, so I was a little uncertain as to how and what to say and do. But the posters here are all super nice and willing to talk about anything and everything Disney.

I am envious of your status as a Disney Specialist. Like you, and everyone else here, I am totally into all things Disney and spend my time scheming and dreaming about my next trip. But unlike your spouse, my hubby is NID (Not Into Disney) so it's an up hill battle in my house to get to go to the House of the Mouse at all, not to mention as often as I'd like.

I did manage to buy my first AP last Nov and will have made three trips before it expires, but this is a banner year and I don't expect it to repeat.

After all of that whining, here are some questions for you:

1. How long did it take you to become a DS?
2. Is the CDK offered via distance learning?
3. Is this something I could work into on the side until my early retirement date for my "real" job (6 1/2 years)?

Again, welcome to WDWMagic. You instantly fit in here.

Welcome aboard. As Tigsmom said, it is addicting, so strap yourself in an prepare for the ride. You may want to replace the computer chair with a lazyboy...
