I'm sure they didn't. Honestly, in my estimation I'd say they're a little too attached to it.

Nerd correction: TECHNICALLY that music box recording was originally made for Phantom Manor in Paris. They reused it for HMH.

My guess is that it will return, but not until next year’s overlay. Same with the full decor package for the new queue.

I am blown away at how good it looks. It shows great restraint. Does that mean they could've gone a little further? I'd say so. I was expecting more flora around the place. Not the biggest fan of how "standard" some of the props look. Give it some time, and it'll fit even more thru more wear and tear. Thumbs up.

I am too lol I love the entire soundtrack start to finish with the exception of the oogie boogie finale (or that scene in general).

I hope you're right, I can't wait to see that.

True. And I'm fairly certain I've heard it play in the queue for the regular Mansion at DL as well. I don't think its use is limited to just the overlay in California, though I have no proof of that.

I know the music box was made for Phantom Manor, but yup it did play year round at DL at the old fastpass distribution area. I will miss that, it was peaceful and no one ever went there. Personally I think the music box is an amazing addition to HMH.

Does anyone know what that middle entrance is for? The rightmost is Lightning Lane, the leftmost is standby. There are only two signs in the entrance arch. I’m so confused what the middle section is for.

I agree. It looks great, it all FEELS great! And I also know what you mean about the “standard” decorations. My first response was, there seems to be a lot of stuff here that I could get from any garden decoration supply store. But it is an appropriate part of setting the scene, a slow transition from quaint, non-spooky New Orleans to something being a little bit off. I might have thrown in a weeping angel or …what’s that statue from “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil?”

I agree, and it gets progressively creepier as the queue goes on. It also fits Disneyland’s pristine mansion extremely well. Because of this the queue can’t be ‘scary’ but it can be unnerving. This new queue does this very well. As you advance, the statues get more unnerving and something starts to feel more and more ‘off.’

I also really enjoy the new musical arrangement. It has a slightly jazzy, very New Orleans sound while still remaining ‘off’ and very unnerving. It weaves in Grim Grinning Ghosts just enough as well without overdoing it. As you venture through the attraction, Grim Grinning Ghosts becomes more complete and prominent before fully unveiling itself with the graveyard. The queue still features the musical motif, though not as prominently as the foyer to maintain the musical structure of the experience. While WDW has outright creepy music in the queue, DL now uses the queue as a transition from New Orleans Square to the mansion proper, hinting at the creepiness ahead rather than hitting you over the head with it like WDW. Very well done!

OKAY two more thoughts. Has anyone noticed that it appears there are multiple new tracks? It sounds like the music progresses from area to area. There’s the New Orleans honky-tonk type sound in the front lawn, then the version with chimes in the “Leota” section, and finally a version with synthesized wails in the former switch-back purgatory.

Also, it appears the “haunted birdhouse” has been removed. R.I.P.

This new queue does give me lots of reassurance for that rumored Pirates extended indoor queue. It could turn out great, just like this.

Pirates, of all rides, is in desperate need of more queue space. I think relieving that pinch point right in front would do wonders for NOS.

Is it still on LL now that Mansion is back?

As of right now, yes, Pirates is still part of LLMP.
