The new courtyard looks great and the queue is more promising to me as a result. Can this team do some fixes to the "barn" gift shop (and while they're at it, something with the off-center Club 33 window? - something about that and the barn feel the same to me).

Why can't we replace the challenge trail in DCA with a Gravity Falls Mystery Spot ride?

Lol yeah I figured. I think he’s ran through both seasons twice already. Not to mention the drawings. The bottom one is some character he made up I believe. I’m impressed with his use of color. He’s 8.

That could be cool. I don’t care for the animation style and I’m not sure I love the show (haven’t seen enough) but I like the concept of a Mystery cabin ride that takes you to other dimensions etc.

Gravity Falls is an excellent show that did a great job fleshing out all of the various characters in the town. It should feature more in Disney in general, but given all the bull it went through just to get multiple seasons, and given how the creator feels about the company at this point, I'm not holding my breath.

Maybe it’s because it’s always been that way but I feel that it makes for a better buildup for the music not to start until you walk in the Mansion IMO.

They won't, the entire reason for making it smaller was to take over most the space for the new HM extended queue. This smaller area is now exclusively park space, more seating for Tiana's (if they add tables and chairs like the art showed), and exit / entrance for Train.

If for some reason they needed to extend outside the newly built queue, I assume it would be some switch backs directly in front of the mansion, where they are lining up VQ guests right now.

No amount of added decoration will change the scale and architecture of the gift shop.

They had the chance to do something more interesting, or at least aesthetically pleasing, and just didn't.

The small lanterns hanging under the roof line look especially out of scale/place

Gift shop is completely wrong. Should have been sunken in from the main path and modeled after a mausoleum.

I find the “it’s fines” and “looks goods” to be disingenuous. They’re just attempts to not be negative or pile on Disney. I mean it’s that or you just have really low standards or don’t know what you’re talking about with all due respect. There’s not much up for debate with this project or TBA for example.

We went yesterday and I thought it looks nice in person, and I’m as critical of Disney as anyone. As far as modern Disney goes I’d call the gift shop a win, it’s better than most of what they’ve done recently.

We also got a ride on Tiana and with the exception of the murals the exterior looks incredible, unfortunately the ride is just ok, it felt much shorter than Splash since there’s fewer scenes and a lot less to look at, it’s still fun and will still make most people’s must do list but it’s crazy to me they spent tens of millions and I doubt many will find it better than Splash was.
