Obviously artist depictions don't always equate to how it'll look in real life. But I suspect its not done yet with more to come when it officially opens.

They're typically far closer than this. Especially considering the art was barely released a year ago. And I'm not referring to anything that could be added at this point. The building itself is completely different. It looks like something in a nice suburban neighborhood.

Also, if the walls are completely down, then they're likely done with the exterior. They wouldn't be painting and adding thematic details in a guest-accessible area.

I guess they decided to take a more subtler approach. Could have been that WDI saw all the complaints in this very thread and decided to make changes to try and make it blend in more with the Mansion. ;)

Looks like a mobile home that just fell off the truck the way it’s sitting there in the middle of HM and Splash. I know it’s a Carriage house but it needs a little porch or something in the front. Maybe it shouldn’t have been a Carriage House.

the white trim needs to go. I do think it would be 60% improved just by painting the white to the original dark green. If these are the final colors I think they are overthinking having it match the Mansion.

That’s my major issue with it too. It’s also a bit too chunky. Don’t care for that overhang either. Not sure what the proper name is.

I also think it looks nice. Comparing it to a prefab shed seems a bit disingenuous and hyperbolic.
I don't think it's disingenuous at all. It literally looks like a pre-fab shed.....especially given that it's sitting on a slab of concrete like in a Lowe's parking lot with no landscaping or anything.

They could have at least done something like in front of Critter Club with some sort of landscaping (better than my bad photoshop skills):

I also think going from the two doors down to one adds to the "shed" look as well. A couple of small windows where the light sconces are could have helped too. Maybe add some more green to some of the trim.

There's a lot they could have done to make this better and I honestly find people saying it looks great as the disingenuous ones.

Well said. Is it not getting old though pointing out solutions for these projects that should have been obvious to these imagineers? What’s going on here?

I'm wondering the same thing. It's like immersion.....even in the slightest......doesn't exist anymore. I don't know if they fired everyone creative and hired non-creative people for DEI-sake, or if these people truly don't know what good design and imagineering is anymore. It's honestly mind-boggling.

Look, we are all here because we love Disneyland. A lot of us are critical not because we are hateful or spiteful people, but because we LOVE the place and want to see the best imagineering possible in every single square inch and in every single decision.

Automatically loving everything Disney puts out doesn't make someone the better fan. It makes them the compromising fan and as long as fans keep acting like everything is perfect and Disney can do no wrong, the more they feel that what they do is fine and things will never get better.

Good enough just doesn't cut it.

I find the “it’s fines” and “looks goods” to be disingenuous. They’re just attempts to not be negative or pile on Disney. I mean it’s that or you just have really low standards or don’t know what you’re talking about with all due respect. There’s not much up for debate with this project or TBA for example.

Of all the deviations from the artwork, this one stands out to me the most. It really sold the structure as a former carriage house.

I can agree with this, I think the two doors looked better, but I assume they decided operationally one big door was a better option.

I think once the doors are slid open, and other theming is added, it will be okay.

I wish they would have included the planter below the center window.

Makes it more frustrating seeing the “it’s fines” and “looks goods” in nothing but a disingenuous attempt to not be negative and not pile on Disney. I'm sorry, but with all due respect, why the gatekeeping on how a fan should and shouldn't feel about a project? As if your opinion is the only true genuine opinion.

After posting for many years here I can tell you that posters like @Disney Analyst and others including myself are very capable of being critical while still be able to find something that you might find fault in perfectly acceptable. Just because they disagree with your take on things doesn't make their opinion disingenuous, of low standards, or even that they don't know what they are taking about.

Personally I would have preferred they kept the more dark tones that clashed with the Mansion. But I can understand why they maybe went in this direction to make it blend more into the background.

Sorry nothing personal but that’s my honest opinion. If one’s takeaway after seeing this or TBA is “it’s fine” or “it’s good” than it’s one of those three options in my last post. If one honestly finds it fine or acceptable that’s their opinion which then leads me to my opinion that they either have really low standards or don’t know what they’re talking about.

But what does it accomplish having this opinion? Is someone (outside of myself) more willing to engage with you in discussion if your stance to them just because they like how a project looks is "yeah you don't know what you're talking about you have low standards"? I'm mean really, are you or anyone else here trying to be the arbitrator of what Disney fans should and shouldn't like? Sorry but I didn't vote you or anyone else into that position. Also that is not respecting others opinions.

Also what reason does Disney have to do things different, to do something that you or others would find more acceptable, you and many others still go to the Parks and spend money even with these projects that you despise. I think it sends mixed messages. And Disney will just continue to do what they will do, and you'll just continue to complain. Its a cycle that is never ending.

If someone came on this thread today and wrote “McDonalds is fine dining” what conclusion could one come to other than that person is shilling, trolling, has low standards or is inexperienced?

Also to answer your question - just because the new stuff stinks doesn’t mean the old stuff does.

Is an opinion supposed to accomplish something? Or do you mean stating that opinion?

I would disagree but respect their opinion, just as I do with you or anyone else here. I would also engage them in conversation, again the same as I do with you or anyone else here, and discuss their reasons and provide my own as a counter.

That may be, but if Disney is basing things on customer engagement, ie the money they spend coming and while in the Park, then the message they get from you is "I like everything you have to offer and will continue to spend money not matter what you do" even if that isn't how you really feel.

Is an opinion supposed to accomplish something? Or do you mean stating that opinion?
Both really. It leads to posters not wanting to engage and end up just leaving because they don't feel their opinion is accepted or respected. All you have to do is look at the MC forums to see what happens when too many get pushed away by such opinions, its practically a ghost town over there. I rather not see these forums end up like that even though its not as active here as it once was, this is why I continue engagement.

Youll have a hard time finding someone around here that backs up their opinion with more detail than me so it’s interesting when most of the positive comments can be summed up as “it’s fine” or “It’s good” especially when they come from people that consistently defend Disney. So, I lose interest in actually engaging when I’ve already come to one of 4 possible conclusions. Sometimes there is room for debate. With some things there isnt. A few of Disneys latest projects are debate proof.

Well the question “what’s the point of having a specific opinion” doesn’t really make sense but as far as stating it I’m not sure. Maybe as someone who craves authenticity I need to throw it out there from time to time. What does respecting an opinion mean? That I can’t have an opinion of one’s opinion?
