Yes, was just about to post:

Really good listen to the new queue music, the arrangement is fantastic.

Damn these comparisons and side by sides! Often times I’m ok with the new iterations until I see an old video and I’m reminded of how gorgeous it used to be. Magnolia Park in its old form was beautiful, canopied, symmetrical and created an ambiance that the new version doesn’t quite deliver. With that said I think they did a good job with this new version. It’s also much more functional. Does that help me? Not really as I used to very much enjoy having a mint julep n beignet on a park bench under that beautiful canopy but this is probably better for the average guest. Those trees will grow in too. It looks like at least one of them was moved and in shock right now.

Is now a good time to ask- are they finally done with the west side of Disneyland? Outside of an expanded POTC queue, Pooh closing for more Star Wars and a path to DL Forward I have to imagine that answer is Yes. This will be more or less the west side of DL people can enjoy for the next 2-3 decades. It’s wild to think of all the updates they’ve made to the west and best side of the park in the last 10 years:

Project Stardusting the waterways/ pathways into Adventureland/ Frontierland
New Big Thunder trail
Big Thunder BBQ and petting zoo closed
Galaxies Edge
Walkway to Galaxies Edge
Hungry Bear moving inland
DLRR tracks rerouted
Shrinking of ROA with new scenes/ waterfalls
Tropical Hideaway
Project star dusting Adventureland
Expanded Bengal BBQ seating into old Indiana Jones store
Swiss Family Robinson treehouse
The refreshed POTC queue
Planter removal and walkways redo in NOS
Eudoras
French Market to Tiana’s Place
The new Magnolia Park
New HM queue
HM store
Splash to TBA
Hungry Bear update
Bayou Country changes and new shops

One thing I notice here that’s slightly concerning. Frontierland proper has survived relatively unscathed. Is Frontierland and our ROA/ TSI safe? Can this be a potential TL situation of them putting some bigger plans on the back burner? Sure hope not.

Oh ya I forgot one - losing the old train stations announcements for this new one that apparently not one single soul in the world noticed except me.

Yes except for WTP. TSI redo incoming.

Nothing gen 1 Imagineering did was by accident. They chose not to have queue music for a reason.

True and on that note what heck is going on at the old Splash exit? I find a a perfectly fenced off show-vehicle to be off putting. I just don’t think it makes sense or is good show. They want to build up the place making but I think it does the opposite. There’s also a weird wooden fence going across there that looks like it might be permanent

I would imagine so. I think ROA/TSI are definitely safe since Disneyland has the advantage of being the original park and Fantasmic being a big draw. I also think it helps the Rivers were recently rerouted, and that’s been met with pretty positive reception (I really like the view from the train now).

My guess is that Imagineering will focus on the Avengers’ Campus expansion next, we already know where it’s going and there’s a lot of concept art out. After that, probably Coco, then Avatar, and hopefully a new Tomorrowland announcement next D23?

It's sort of like what they did to the horseless carriage with the new Mansion queue- neither make sense in their location. It's place setting like what I'd do in Planet Coaster- just plop stuff down that's 'in theme' without thinking of logistics or if it makes sense.

10 years ago I thought the west side of Disneyland was perfect.

I believe everything they've done to that half of the park, with the exception of the new treehouse, to be a reduction.

Yes to which question? Haha

Whats WTP?

TSI redo as island stays but pirate theme changed?
I was talking about Pooh. I have known for awhile it is a goner but it seems there are enough advocates that want to save it that if they can move it they will. TSI getting a clean up. Pirate crap is gone. I have not been told if there will be a new overall theme. Maybe Lilo and Stitch. Star Wars plan is ramping up.

By the way, don't judge the HM shed just yet. Detailing to come.

I’d add Tropical Hideaway but otherwise agree. I think some of the projects had some upside like being able to circumnavigate the park with GE or operationally things were improved with some of the walkways allowing for better crowd flow. If we re talking pure aesthetics than nearly everything was a downgrade except for the new waterfalls on the ROA.

I’m conflicted on Pooh, I think the area is very charming. The thought of a cool Endor/ Ewok ride is intriguing though. Ideally the Critter Country side of the Pooh building would stay similar to what it is now even if they expand GE.

Stitch on TSI? Wouldn’t be my first choice but ad long as the island looks the same and the ROA stays I can deal with it. They should save Stitch for TL.

It’s hard to imagine that HM shed being saved but I guess some more detailing can help. Some of the things though like the size, high roofline and thick white fascia though…

I think TSI and Stitch are two separate thoughts in that post.

I HOPE they are!

While I’ll welcome the end of the cognitive dissonance seeing Spanish galleon parts along a Mississippi riverside, and seeing Jack Sparrow in a non-tropical climate, I do think the interactive elements were really fun (when they worked). And the cave enhancements are great too. If cleaned up, I hope the island is not left with nothing to do.
