I can only dream HM will get some major TLC. I just hope they won't add an audio-animatronic Eddie Murphy! :fork:

The HM will have a few sections heavily updated, with other areas just (!) brought upto 21st century standards. As for SSE, whilst we expect the entire descent to change and 180top area to racically alter....A-100`s rule :D
totally ultra disney geeks unite!

martin, i think you need a bumper sticker that says, "my other girlfriend is a A-100".... but then again, that my be a little kinky

I think of all the rides that need updates, HM and SSE are the two I wanted to see done. (space mountain is a close 3rd) Updating the AAs with hybrid A-100s, Awsome! I cant wait to see the updates, the bad news is I have to wait till our 08' trip, as it wont be done for our trip this year. If its all true, its all GREAT!

I may be in the minority, but I greatly prefer to read Al than Kevin. Al's articles are about DL more than they are about Al. They include plenty of editorializing and Al-filtered views, but there is also some good rumormongering and gossip in there. Sometimes it can even be true!

Kevin's articles are all about how Kevin experiences and views WDW---it is all through his very specific filter. Very little forward-looking tidbits, very little insider gossip. It's pretty rare that I need to read an entire article of his. While Al can never be accused of being an unbiased reporter, at least he tries to report rather than stick entirely to his own personal experiences and beliefs.

Edited to add: Well, okay, maybe not. ;) But, I still like Al's stuff better.

How can you say Lutz isn't worth it? If you're referring to his obvious DL bias then ok, but he is the ultimate authority on what is happening to Disneyland. He has known about things such as Pirate Island long before many people who are now working on the project ever did. You can dislike him due to his distaste for WDW which I think is a bit over the top, but there's no one with better info regarding upcoming things than him outside of the top levels of Disney.

To tell you the truth, Lutz DOES NOT have any inside sources at all! He just reports mere rumors and gossip that VERY seldom, if ever, become facts.

Therefore, he works hard to make himself look like the ultimate authority on what's happening at the parks, but he is not the ultimate authority on it.

It also makes no sense that someone would know about a new project before the people on the inside start working on it. After all, the people inside the company have to start working on a particular project behind closed doors before any tidbits of info start leaking out to the public.

Just plain incorrect. Al has some VERY good sources at TDA.

Sort of true.
The project they mentioned, Pirate's Lair, was leaked initially by someone in Marketing, I believe. TDA and Marketing decided they wanted to do it before WDI had been approached about it. At least, that's how it was told to me.
I know some Imagineer types who literally had no idea what he was talking about when he first wrote it up.

I wonder how "scary" they will make it, since the entire theme of Haunted Mansion was to have it spooky and silly, not too scary, hence, that is why there are "Grim Grinning Ghosts".

As for Screamscape, i find them to be really accurate. If they only get a rumor, they will say, it is only a rumor, and will not parade around like it is a cold hard fact.

I can't really think of anything that Screamscape has said that wasn't true when they thought it was, or haven't corrected.

I still don't agree with you.

I don't want to tell you what to do, but you probably should. Lee has been an incredibly reliable and accurate source of information to these forums for some time with an obvious knowledge of what's going on at WDI. I realize you are new, at least to posting, but I can tell you from being member here for many years that he knows what he's talking about.

I don't care for Al Lutz's 'spin' in his stories either or his recent personal mission right now to knock down Disney World for whatever reason (perhaps spun from a subconscious inferiority complex when really comparing WDW and DLR), but there is no doubt in my mind that he has to have some good sources. While he has been wrong a lot, he was spot on with the changes Pirates was making at DL before details were released by Disney publicly and he was spot on about the consideration to change TSI to Pirates Lair, well before anyone had mentioned it before online. You don't just make these things up without some kind of sources.
