Halloween stuff was already being sold and taken over several stores at Disneyland 2 weeks ago when we were there.

Halloween and Harvest season are pretty much running together these days. Harvest actually begins in August in many states. We harvested our carrots this afternoon. Tomorrow we're setting up Halloween. Fall season kicks off on Labor Day at our house, and it has for the past decade. Nice to see WDW finally catching on. For my taste, they are usually pretty late not going Halloween gangbusters until mid-late September.

All of this Halloween this early is just not right. Last year when I heard that Night of Joy (which was held at the Magic Kingdom for a quarter century the first weekend after Labor Day) was being moved to the Studos, I at first assumed it was so Disney could milk more money out of its Pirate and Princess Partys. Having Halloween events at the beginning of September is just way too early. Even Universal with its much better and way more involved Holloween Horror Nights waits until the very end of September or more often into October.

I agree with you all. this is way too early. But it's not just disney, target is putting up there candy displays also. Labor day isn't even over! I say you should wait until about a month left before putting out and selling decor and the like for a particular holiday. Happy Memorial Day!

all i can say is that when i walked down main street for the first time in 2 years on thursday, i was not a happy girl when i saw halloween decorations, christmas lights (dont even get me started on the crane) at the end of august.

i was ed. and when a photopass guy overheard me complaining to my family, he joined right in "you know, next thing we know we're going to be celebrating the holiday year! all the holidays at once. it seems to be the rate we're going at." he had a point.

IT'S.

TOO.

EARLY.

Besides that, they look great!:lol::lookaroun

You think that's bad? One of the stores over here (and I mean a BIG store!) set up it's Christmas floor and Santa's grotto over a month ago! And what is worse, people are actually buying their Christmas decorations! And this was late July / early August!!:eek:

That is early!!

While it is scary to see the Xmas lights going up already, I'm sure there is a budget reason for it (i.e. crane in for maybe the bridge so make use of it elsewhere, maybe....:shrug:)

I have to say i love the Halloween stuff, and again September is far to early for Halloween, but if Disney's Halloween wasn't two months long (like a year is 24 months long as Disney) i'd never get to MNSSHP as we always visit in September.

Love the characters tho, thanks for the pics, its getting me even more excited for my trip in 8 days :sohappy:

I can't wait to see the decorations. As far as Christmas decorations go. I think they do regular maintenance on the castle so they use the crown for that and put up the lights as well.
