If a gondola line can be installed up a mountain in the off season, why should it take longer to install and open a system in.flat land FL?

Those Hitchhiking Ghost stickers take 18 months to adequately seal to the surface. This also gives Disney time to raise the A/C by 2 degrees per month so guests find 88 degrees to be "refreshingly cool" by then. They've been completing a case study over at Spaceship Earth for the last couple years.

Seriously, the only drop dead date is that the gondolas must open with SWL.

One would think that a concurrent hard of 2 different operations should be avoided. 2 clusterforks at the same time would be a nightmare.

Yes. They would want the flying ovens to be fully operational by the time SWL opens. They will have 4 GE technicians on staff to fix them at a moment's notice. Thankfully, they saw the writing on the wall and didn't go with Kenmore.

I cannot stand PR nonsense like this...
The innovative transportation system is quickly coming to life! Workers just installed the last support tower at the Resort and are beginning to thread the series of reinforced cables to carry guests in stylish themed gondolas.
"stylish themed gondolas" ≠ stylishly themed gondolas
Carefully chosen words?

Because, Disney. ;)

As much as everyone likes to make excuses why Disney attractions are different.... and why it should take Disney so long... I don’t think anything is as cut and dry as this attraction to show the Disney tax in action.

I personally think the timeline has more to do with cbr and riviera schedules... but I can’t imagine holding these specialists up for this long is to Disney’s favor.

You can't associate gondolas and Fall... it has to bounce in for Spring.

I am taking that announcement with a pinch of salt. You don't invest that sort of capital, mothball it and then open it days before the busiest period of utilisation. If it has initial teething issues, 6 months gives you time to work it out before you are reliant on this capacity.

I wouldn't be surprised if this had a lengthy soft-opening period....

Fall 2019 is a surprising and pretty disappointing opening time for the Gondolas. I would not have guessed there was still a year's worth of work to be done. Honestly was expecting like May, but that was mostly me hoping to ride them on my trip to AoA that month LOL. Ah well, that's the Disney construction pace for ya.

The gondola I’m in charge of opens next week for ski season. Usually all 25 operators have never run a lift before. They arrive on Monday, train in a classroom for two days, practice at the lift for two days, then we open. Basically the same machine as the Skyliner.

Wait, they don't have two months of classes training in skiing traditions, history, and culture?!!
